A weekend with 2 kiddos didn't seem busy enough so I figured I should do a drawer replacement for the camp speaker too

This is nearing production readiness. Here are some photos and some remarks.
Also, it latches so there is a nice click to it when you operate it, but Rivian refuses to lock the latch. I will figure that one out for v2.

Any thoughts, ideas etc before I release this?

Possible add slots in different positions for a divider. Maybe have a way to reuse the charge port for charging. Looking good.

Very nice. Maybe add a rubber type liner so it doesnt rattle or move around during drives?

Why not dovetail the front aspect, or use screws from behind?
The rivets on front look very unfinished.

I would definitely buy something like this.

The speaker is cool but for me it is a special outings only item, not a daily use item, where a drawer like this is more functional and would see daily use.

I second the idea of having a charge port, many of us are annoyed with Rivian pulling the 12 VDC charge port from under the dash.

Match the texture and curve of the front. Or cover it with little Rivian logos

. Add a cup holder insert. Add a detent so it will sit halfway out. slots for dividers. False bottom so we can hide stuff below. Rubber feet or strips so we can sit it on a table top to go through it or clean it. A trough to catch the drips that fall down from the cup holders.
You could do a survey here of what features people like, because clearly I have gone off the rails.
I actually dislike the camp speaker because of the wasted space.
You could run a dovetail from top to bottom of the sides and add slots to the back of the front plate to get rid of the screws.

I was wondering why wasn't one piece.... then no concerns about the rivets....

Looks to me like the prototype is 3D printed. Making it one piece with a 3DP would add some complications due to the sloping front. Hopefully the final product will use a different assembly method, such as dovetail mentioned previously, interlocking slots, overlapping flanges on the inside, etc.

interested, would like the front to not look unfinished as in the picture. Dividers would be nice as well as a rubberized bottom. The worst thing is to have anything rattling. Please let us know when you have it available in your store. Thanks!

What happens with the camp speaker? If you want to charge it you need to remove the drawer. I agree the R1's could use better storage usage, but I would not want to toss out the camp speaker to get it.

Some decent comments here and I'll echo my suggested improvements, some as a stickler meeseeks:

Redesign the front of the drawer to sit even/flush with the center console
Use a more finished solution that doesn't look 3D printed
Offer a rubberized textile for the interior of the drawer, to prevent items from easily shifting
Add a modular vertical divider that can be installed in multiple positions
