I live a mile away. Know where it is :). That same camper R2 has been seen several times, once by me. Didn’t see the rear window down though. Nice catch by OP

I have to say, that barely counts as "camouflage". When automakers do "camo", they use patterns (or even extra taped on panels) to disguise the actual shape/lines of the vehicle when photographed from a distance. That pattern is just "cool wrap" that does nothing to disguise the shape. (Plus the fact that automakers tend to do that when the design hasn't been publicly shown yet, R2 very clearly has.)

This is too much like going to the zoo and saying, "Wow! I spotted a tiger in the wild!"

Floppy rear charge port?
I saw that as well and at first thought shoddy workmanship but then I wondered if the flap may work like some gas caps with a "push to open/close function and the driver simply didn't close it properly. Hard to say for sure.

Where was this taken?

Asking for a friend…
Irvine HQ, where the validation pilot line is installed.

Camo isn't always used to "hide" final designs. It's also used to identify cars that cannot be sold or resold to the public—test mules. These either have to remain in possession of the manufacturer, or sent to the crusher. The wrap can be removed, sure. But it's extra work if any tries to resell. I know a guy who runs one of the largest dismantling operations on the west coast and one of the first to be Tesla-certified. He has processed a few R1s already and does business regularly with Singer.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.
Cool, but why’s the charging door hanging open? I’m sure it’s just because it’s a prototype.
