Rivian R1S
For anyone who is interested in such things (mainly to inform potential future price hikes) here are a few stats on R1S auctions since launch. Source: Cars & Bids

# of R1S sold: 18
Overall Average Price: $118,756
Average Price (Last 10 sales): $114,550
Sales by Color: Launch Green: 10, El Cap Granite: 5, Glacier White: 2, Forest Green: 1
Sales by Tire Type: 20": 8, 22": 10

Doesn't seem like accessories are getting any real value in the auctions (underbody shields, cargo racks, chargers etc.)

I wonder if the T and S prices will ever equalize. Would be nice to have the option to do a like-for-like swap.

It's an interesting thought to be honest. Initially the R1S was priced higher than the R1T (still is) but if you follow the launches of each closely you'll see that the R1T actually had a slightly more successful launch (in terms of reviews) than the R1S. Some of this is possibly due to the fact that the R1T got the party earlier so by the time the R1S came there was less 'shock and awe' effect.

That being said many believe that the R1T's drive and handling is a bit nicer, though this will possibly balance out over time as Rivian gets more customer seat time with the R1S. Also folks really seemed to like the gear tunnel which is obviously missing from the R1S. Another consistent observation of folks who have driven both is that the compressor noise is loud in the R1S whereas less so in the R1T due to the location. Also a recent announcement (plus some reviewer testing) has shown that the R1T actually gets slightly better range than the R1S which is different than what was originally projected.

Personally I like them both (I have a R1S) for different reasons, but it wouldn't surprise me if the price point of these two vehicles (both Rivian and aftermarket) nudges closer to each other over time. I suspect demand will be greater for the SUV however so that will likely put upward price pressure on the R1S.

Its a simple supply and demand question.

In a short period of time, relatively speaking, R1T dropped from near $150K down to today's around $88~90K.

Just as the plot shows, the price of R1S is dropping over time as more inventory of vehicles becomes available.

All things being equal, the difference between the T and S will be marginal just as it if one buys new from Rivian. The small difference between the two will shrink a bit in the secondary market (used) but probably will be there...

The better question is will the resale values of T and S hold up more than a typical used vehicle depreciations once other eTrucks and eSUVs are common place....

Yeah, I love my R1T don't get me wrong, but I initially signed up for the S and only swapped to get the tax credit. Not sure I'd even change now if I had the chance, but it'd be neat to have the opportunity. Haven't even driven an S, so who knows.

So I need to change from my 21 road tires to 20s or 22s if I want to see my R1S next year by the looks of it. So sick of the delays.

Reason you see those 20s and 22s on auctions and for most of the current deliveries because those are free upgrade with the launch edition. You will see more of the 21s next year because it comes stardard with the non LE adventure.
