Original Post

Take it for what is worth. When I was picking up my truck today the service center guide mentioned that OC configs were going to start shipping but with the wood trim from the BM combo. I know a lot of you were hoping that they would use the walnut from the FE trim but that doesn't sound like thats case.

Announcement should be coming soon.

Well that’s interesting!

If true, it might look similar to this rare 2012 Signature Model S Performance White and Carbon Fiber interior combo I have on my about to be former car.

It would be really nice if Rivian would communicate such things sooner if this is really happening.

I'm guessing supply issues with the lighter wood, but I found the original OC wood to look washed out and pickled at best in pictures, so this contrasting color might work well. I'd still like to see the FE wood in a BM interior though.

That would be my first choice. WOn't it look similar to the interior option for the Explore version? I have a feeling that the lighter wood will look cheap and terrible.

I agree. The main reason I have explore configured is that I don’t like the light wood trim but want lighter seats.

For those interested in what this may look like....from another thread....
Sorry...this one....

I like it. For those that say that dark does not go with the light, most of you probably spend most of your time in driver or passenger seat. Unless you got eyes somewhere else other than front of your head, you mostly see what is in front of you and in a bright sunny day, light surfaces can reduce your ability to see everything else. Cheapo combo in Explore works just fine for me. I especially like darker center steering wheel more than lighter ocean coast.

But if you diffidently want the adventure package with wood and don't want to wait how about Black coast or Ocean Mountain option:

It makes sense that they would choose the black, as that matches the Explore trim.

I hope this is true. While the FE wood would be best, I like the BM wood better than the original OC pictures.

Interesting. So I wonder is this just to allow OC to start shipping until they get the lighter wood sorted, or is this going to be a permanent replacement for the lighter wood?

That's a good question. It sounded like it was too get OC orders shipped. I guess they could go back to the original trim if they figure out the supply issue.

Personally the ocean coat wood trim Is my least favorite. I think either the black mountain or forest edge trim would look better with the ocean coast interior.

I actually would have paid more for the OC with the black wood. I think it's the best interior combo by far. I really hope this actually happens.
My thoughts exactly. I don't care for the light wood.
I hope this turns out to happen rather than just end up being some dude at a service center heard a rumor
