Hi
Finally was able to do off roading after 1.5 yrs with my R1S. Yday was perfect weather . Went to petersmill run in Virginia. I didn't have any idea how tough the trail is but just went ahead with adventure with my family. I was so amazed by R1S off road capabilities. Now I understand why people rave about it. It was tough trail for me atleast as it was my first one. Whole family loved the experience. Attaching few clips

Looks like you had a blast! That Rivian yellow looks great out in the fall foliage!

Looks like a lot of fun! As a fellow R1S owner (since August 2023) who's never been off road...What did you do for a full-sized spare? Were you carrying one in the rear or living on the edge without one?

I'm going to have to replace my 20" Pirellis in the next couple of months (we're at about 22K on them) and I'm wondering if I should hold on to one of them and buy a Dodge Ram steel wheel so I have a full-sized spare for trips like yours.

Honestly I didn't even think about it till I was on trail. I didn't have full size spare had the regular spare. But yeah next time I have to keep that in mind. I am due for tires change. So wanted to do it before I get new ones. I am going with new Michelin defenders .

I'm glad you all had fun and came home safely. I always worry about Murphy...A sharp rock ripping open your sidewall and you and the family would have been stuck - and I'm guessing cell coverage was limited or non-existent.

I have my eyes on the Toyo Open Country A/T III EV with the SL load rating rather than the LT tires. Hopefully they'll be available when it comes to be time for me to buy.

Any idea how much energy you used?
Low speed should be efficient but requires more power at times.

That sounds like fun! How long is the drive around the White Rim Trail?

I see your location is listed as 'nova' (I'm assuming Northern Virginia, but if it's Nova Scotia, it might be a longer trek for you :D ).

In case you weren't aware, there's an offroad-consulting class hosted by NERC on November 23.

It's a great time! And you learn so much; it's incredible :) I can't recommend it enough. I've done the 101 and 201 and this go around, the wife is driving and I'll be co-driver/spotter!

Looks fun.

I've been trying to find sliders so I can take my R1S for an off-road shakedown run, but haven't found the right option.

Since Rivian won't/may not service vehicles with sliders, I was hoping they'd release their own so that wouldn't be an issue, but it looks as if it may not happen.
