Back in October just before Halloween, I received 12v alerts and managed to get a mobile appointment in 2 days. Swapped both batteries.I am one of the brickees who started one of the threads.
In my case the Miami service center was very responsive and courteous. Extraction from parking garage via tow truck was the main drama. They swapped battery in a couple hours and I was on my way.
I asked many questions and they just insisted it was the battery.
Then 5 days later (and just after latest OTA update) I got the 12v warning (which I was grateful for because I didn't get that the first time). Anyhow, back it went and they just said bad battery again. That second time they held onto it for 4 days and "monitored it".
I tried to say that was implausible that I had back to back bad batteries but that is what they said. They said they looked at the inverter thingamajig and it was fine.
But.....do I trust it fully now? No. I'm fine to drive it but wouldn't bring on a road trip currently or send my wife out in it. At same time, I irrationally still love the truck and preach about it all the time.
Day after XMAS, my R1T bricked and I couldn't even open a door. Called for service and they had it towed by Saturday, Dec 28. They called me on Monday Dec 30 and said my car was ready. Single 12v battery swap. Diagnostics said it was fine. Picked it up, car drove like new! Had a few hubs tightened.
Tuesday morning, Dec 31, I get into car and have a 12v alert. WTF! Software reset, alerts gone. Informed Rivian and they said it was a software issue and it should be fine.
Same boat as GatorRiv.....I no longer have the warm fuzzy trust as I fear seeing anything "red" pop up on my dash or app. Still love the truck, but my anxiety has moved from running out of juice to not turning on. Luckily, all of my incidents have been in the driveway, I can't imagine being stranded somewhere.
