XPEL PPF Waranty

I recently bought a 2024 R1S that I think was factory wrapped with stealth XPEL PPF film. You can see the film was precut and set back from the edges just slightly. I am having bubbling/blistering in the film around the drivers headlight. Does anyone know if the factory tracks these installs by VIN? Anyone has warranty work done by XPEL to fix this? Any tips or experience appreciated!

Warranty Registration

I would register the warranty on XPELs website. They ask for VIN. Site says warranty is transferrable but it doesn't outline any process for transfer so I assume they just have the VIN and verify.

I would be shocked if it doesn't get punted over to XPEL. And good luck with XPEL. I did not have good luck with them when their windshield protection film did not perform as promised. If they don't give you the run around first, they probably rule this as wear & tear instead of defective product/installation.

Ok, so I filled out a warranty registration with XPEL and got the confirmation email that was received. I emailed to ask if XPEL honored their warranty for second owners and got this response saying they did. I’m going to wait for Rivian to finish my ownership transfer and then see what happens with filing a claim.

I had an issue with just the standard factory applied gear tunnel ppf being poorly installed, but getting it fixed took a year. Issue was they didn't have my vin registered with xpel so they couldn't do the repair, and the local service center doesn't do ppf. They ended up sending a tech up from chicago to WI to do it. I would have settled for a gear shop credit and just taken it to the xpel shop and paid out of pocket but that would have been too easy I guess...
