Now that charging will be less of an issue in the near future. Do we care if we sacrifice a little range?

Needing new tires for 20" soon, and starting to think anything that's not causing an extreme hit to mileage is back in the conversation.
The tread wear is abysmal on the A/Ts, going to get like 23-24k mileage out of them, so need to redo all my calculations...

Short answer... no
Longer answer... it doesn't change my decision but I was already running heavy LT tires made by Nitto

I road tripped 4500 miles last year towing a trailer. Before the trip, I had been planning on getting a second set of “road” tires for road trips stating this spring.
After the trip, I sold my extra set of 20” wheels without ever getting road tires on them. No need. Charging infrastructure at least in the Western US is sufficient. And that was before access to Superchargers.

I’d say the best tire is still the 275/60R20 General Grabber HTS60, unless you:
- Tow on a monthly/weekly basis
- need off-road AT tires
- can’t stand the weak looking AS and love the AT look
All that said, trade off is 250 miles vs 320 miles, not really a dealbreaker but might tip the scales for some…
