One pedal driving still actuates the manual brakes at low speeds, and regen is not effective below about 3mph.
Whoa what? Isn’t that what blended braking is… and isn’t that not a thing Rivians…. Yet?

Any car with one-pedal driving does blend in mechanical brakes - regen can't bring a car to a complete stop (at least not without applying reverse power, which is self defeating in this case.) You can think of it as smoothing the gradient from "regen," which is all motors, to "hill hold," which is all mechanical. The exact number probably depends on weight/motors/etc. but most sources say 5-6mph is the lower limit for effective regen.

"Blended braking" is more or less the opposite - engaging brakes progressively more when regen is limited, so pedal-feel is consistent regardless of the balance of regen vs. mechanical. The idea with blended braking is to abstract away regen vs. mechanical brakes from the user. This could be either two-pedal (e.g., requiring you to hit the brake to get any regen, and using mechanical braking to ensure the pedal feel is always the same) or one-pedal (e.g. using mechanical brakes to "cover" for situations where regen is limited, smoothing out differences due to e.g. state of charge, speed, temp, etc.

It isn’t blended braking in the same way we are accustomed to that feature working in other cars (eg my daughter’s eGolf, which actuates regen with the brake pedal). 1-pedal in the Rivian is regen to a point, friction brakes under a few (5?) mph.

I wish we had blended braking for true 1-pedal, even when regen is limited. But no dice. :(

Tire size reset is $60
$60 is what I was initially quoted. After digging more, I found out it’s more involved and closer to $180 for speedometer/vehicle settings.
And in some cases, the cameras need recalibration. If that’s the case, it’s $400-$500 and a trip to the service center.

Here’s a thread on it

2 weeks ago I got access to the R1S shop... I'm trading in my R1T and I'm not going to swap tires right now, so I'm called the test off until I get the R1S and figure out which wheels/combo I will use. I'm stiil have the Nokian 20 AS brand new in my garage.

Have you covered this elsewhere? If not, can you start a thread and talk about your Rivian to Rivian trade in?
I will talk about it as soon as I complete the whole process.

FWIW I just traded in my first R1T for my second because I found an awesome LE config in the Shop for $3k less than my first truck and they offered me $1k more than I paid on the trade-in. The trade-in and delivery process went very smoothly at the Costa Mesa CA SC.
