And charge you battery! That 120v outlet in the back might save your a@@ if loose all power from ice.

You know, this is something I always do without even thinking about it, usually leaving my neighborhood. Good to know all the variables at play.If it looks slippery the first thing I do in any vehicle is try to get in a place with a little bit of straight road and no other cars right next to or in front of me; then start hitting the brake to see exactly how much i can apply before it starts to slide. Then once itās sliding i can figure out what that vehicle needs me to do to fix it.
100%. It is very important to know the limits of the vehicle before you are in a situation that requires you knowing the limits of the vehicle. If it looks slippery the first thing I do in any vehicle is try to get in a place with a little bit of straight road and no other cars right next to or in front of me; then start hitting the brake to see exactly how much i can apply before it starts to slide. Snow mode will set Regen to Low ⦠i did this tonight and I always drive with High Regen but when I put in into Snow mode it went to low ⦠also noticed the less sensitive accel ⦠almost like it puts it 50% of power. Stay safe out there.I think snow mode only reduces input from the accelerator. Acceleration is usually no issue in the snow when in all purpose. If snow mode had a special adjustment to super low regen it would be valuable, but putting in snow mode doesn't change regen mode (which logically it should) so as far as I have found it is worthless. Go all purpose, low regen and enjoy the security of the Rivian!
I have a feeling that the R2 is going to be like an electric Bronco. At least thatās my take.I love going out in the snow and sliding around. Just slow acceleration, braking and turns. Some 20"s with the Toyo's have been great so far, though I still prefer my Bronco.
My ā22 Bronco with Sasquatch was incredible in the snow. Nice balanced feel. The Rivian is nowhere near as good, and the weight is a problem in turns. Itās still pretty good overall thoI love going out in the snow and sliding around. Just slow acceleration, braking and turns. Some 20"s with the Toyo's have been great so far, though I still prefer my Bronco.
There are two main factors, vehicle and tires. Tires matter more.Looks like this weekend will be a tough one for most of the country. Please, share your experiences and advice for the forum. The obvious one is not to drive in bad weather if you dont have to. Beyond that, what should people do and be aware of if they do have to venture out. Feel free to post photos. Wishing everyone a safe journey.
Reporting back regarding the performance of the 22" Pirelli AS tires: they are excellent in the snow. I certainly would not say they are equivalent to snow tires, but they are definitely NOT "garbage".Sport tires are garbage in the snow. Survivable, but you have to be *that guy* that's driving slow.
