My rear passenger window trim has lifted up on front side. Looks like maybe glue that let go…

Wow. I kind of expected this to happen. I have a habit of closing all my car doors by the window trim in order to not fingerprint up the door. I stopped doing this on the Rivian because I noticed that it wasn't very solid.

I'm not terribly impressed with the body panel parts. All the plastic parts seem like they could be easily ripped off. I only went through automatic car wash twice and decided never to do it again because I thought I'd lose something especially when you go through the blow dryer.

We have the same issue on our current Hyundai. Black trim at bottom of window is peeling up. It’s also causes a bit of extra wind noise as a result.

Closing doors by using trim is one of my favorite techniques to avoid finger prints. Unfortunately I gave up on trying to teach family that skill. So a microfiber and some detail spray are always near vehicles....

Another technique is use door handles, but in the Rivian that doesn't really help at all.

My window trim started coming up on Thursday. I’ve got a ticket in but the mobile repair wont be out until May 25th. Not sure I want to leave it like this for a week and a half. I’m debating getting some 3M double sided tape and fixing it myself.

Yes, my truck is in service for other cosmetic issues including this. Same trim position is lifting on mine as well.

Yup, this is pretty common (according to my experiences and what the service advisor said). And, everyone seems to point it out while you’re parked somewhere.

Just submit a service ticket. They can fix it easily even with a mobile appointment. The wait for an available appointment is the problem.

I found that a long strip of electrical tape was good for a non marking semi permanent solution to keep it down until my Service appointment

Same problem here. Came back from Rivian service with the molding warped and peeling off. Back to the shop again.

Don’t waste time on a service ticket. It took the mobile tech about 30 seconds to fix mine after I spent an hour of my time meeting him. I thought it was an adhesive strip that was pulling up but it turns out to just be held in place by spring steel tension. Roll down the window, pop it up and bend the interior portion inward to create a tighter clamping force.

I had this issue, got it ticketed and a mobile service came to my place.
It is not a simple fix, the tech had to remove the inside panel of the door to get it replaced.
Schedule for an appointment, it’s covered.
