What will you name your Rivian?

My wife calls the Tesla we drive, “Magic Carpet”, a descriptive label not a name.

P. S. My wife calls ICE vehicles we drive “dumb” & “dirty”. She does not mince words, relishing a BEV “magic carpet”. She calls cars names, rather than naming cars, nothing personal. However, I enjoying the names Rivian people come up with for their own vehicles.

I thought I would ask a fun question as we wait for more details to be released.

A lot of people, myself included, name their vehicles for a variety of reasons. I’ve done this with virtually every vehicle I’ve owned and will do so again with my R1T.

I’ve currently got Launch Green configured as my color option and plan on having an unapologetically fun time driving it. I’m leaning towards LOKI, marvel god of mischief that also shares a green color palette, but still deciding.

My backup color is El Cap Granite but I haven’t put much thought into that yet.

what’s your R1 name and why?

With a 0-60 of 3 seconds, I was thinking about a custom plate that reads "DOPLER". Unfortunately, in Oregon we're limited to six characters on our plates. After further consideration, this plate would likely draw the unwelcome attention of law enforcement. I'd either be viewed as a speeder, an illiterate druggy, or both.

I think I'll stick with "RIVVIT"?

I was so excited about my new Tesla Model 3 that my wife demanded I return it. Needless to say, I kept it and named it (and, yes, Tesla literally let’s you name it) “The Mistress.”
As these things go, my wife now actually really likes having The Mistress around. So much so, she agreed to the Rivian R1S for a fully electric family... not sure what name she’ll choose for it... as long as it’s not the same as the mailman, I guess.

Same. Had my F-150 a couple years before naming it, whereas, my Model 3 was named within days.

I keep a running list of vehicle names, but no decisions are made until the vehicle is in my possession. Same with dogs.

Agreed on needing to have it and drive for a bit to confirm so you can find its personality. No doubt the same with my dogs too.

Its name is "HAL" for it's a HALlucination until I am actually sitting in it.

We have a white VW E-Golf which we named Eva, after the sleek white Pixar character. The plan was to add a Tesla and name it Wall-E. But Rivian came along and knocked Tesla out of contention. So now I’m conflicted. Wall-E doesn’t quite feel right for a blue truck. But then again maybe it fits perfectly. At least I have a while to think about it.
