We've seen what having an early reservation actually means (in some cases, nothing at all), so you'd be paying a premium just in the hope that Rivian delivers to you soon after they start delivering R1S. Wouldn't it be better to wait until they're being delivered and just buy one on the open market? There were tons of R1Ts for sale within weeks of Rivian starting to deliver them.

Once again, it's not allowed and the reservation would be canceled by Rivian. Guides have been instructed to look into changes of name, etc.. that indicate a swap and deny the pre-order.

You'd have to have the person buy the car and then sell it to you, at which point the starting price is $30k over MSRP minimum.

You're better off buying a post Pricegate reservation, Rivian has been sliding those in to pad revenue

I'm OK with that premium. But is it 100% guaranteed that those orders get canceled now? That certainly wasn't the way it was a few months ago. And even with Tesla you can sneak things through all the time depending on how their loss prevention team feels that day.
