Do you honestly believe that the experience (and related service center expansion) will be as good in states where there are more hoops for Rivian to jump through?
Couldn't be much worst!! So far I can't get ahold of my guide soooo.. Glad you got around to reading the email before you posted :)

You're a snarky fellow, aren't you?

Having owned a Tesla in the past, I know first hand how this goes. I live in Wisconsin and cannot take delivery of a Tesla here. I had to pick mine up in IL. Sure, there is a service center in Madison and Milwaukee, but I guarantee that we might have seen more expansion (and wider adoption) if the state did not put up so many barriers to doing business here.

You're at least in a position where MO presents no such barrier right now, but I find it strange that you wouldn't provide support in preventing such legislation from happening. It makes no sense whatsoever.

You seem like a bitter person who just wants to throw a tantrum because you didn't get what you want yet.

In your first post you seem to imply that you won’t support Rivian because they haven’t delivered your vehicle in the time frame you expected. It’s almost as if you only care about yourself?

There are words for that. Petty…childish…immature…shortsighted….passive-aggressive…etc.

By the way , I have no idea how Rivian chooses delivery by location as I live 2.5 hours away from the manufacturing plant ; in a metropolitan area of 2.2 million people.
They are currently building a service center 6 miles from my house
So you still don't have an idea yet? Need some help?

You can support them if you want. I'm not saying you shouldn't. I just stated that I wouldn't because my purchase experience has been lacking and I've waited 3.5 years... Calling me "Petty…childish…immature…shortsighted….passive-aggressive…etc. " for one decision I made seems a little aggressive, but it is a forum so I expect that. Generally speaking individuals post things on the internet they would never say to your face.

Objectively speaking, your last quote is correct. I am bitter and I did want to throw a tantrum.

I would happily say it to your face. Would you like to meet me at your local Rivian sales center in about 6 months?

I think you guys are missing the point here. The legislation set forth by the Missouri Senate was in their words aimed at improving the end consumer's experience when purchasing an electric vehicle. If I am having problems with Rivian customer service then why would I urge the senate to not pass this law?

I haven't seen the legislation, but if it is like other states facing similar matters (and a rehash of previous shenanigans regarding prohibition of manufacturers selling vehicles directly to consumers) it is because it doesn't actually accomplish that.

All it does it protect current franchisees/dealers and maintains the stranglehold used to force folks to operate through a middle man. Of course they construct their argument under the guise of providing better customer service, but it's really just protectionist behavior.

I am a few months after you with a 01/20 R1S preorder. Rivian’s system has never been fair or equivalent and I am not sure it will be for at least 5 years. I do not think it is a result from not trying but rather I think as a startup manufacturer, they are just overwhelmed and ensuring that they survive. The pandemic made their system seem even more unfair as it is so so frustrating to see people that ordered years after you get their delivery. In the end, I think they make a great and unique product and it will be worth the frustrating wait. They will dominate the EV off road adventure truck and SUV market for a while. Tesla had huge growing pains also as I recall. I almost gave up also but am hanging in there and was able to do this by not taking the delays and dysfunctional communication personal. Hope this helps. JB

Post a link to the bill so we can read about how great it is.
