VIN during the 8-Step Process?

I received my 8 Step email on 10/25.

When I got to the step to complete the Rivian Purchase Agreement, there was a VIN present.

Sent my guide an email that evening stating I would be interested in adding the manual Tonneau cover as long as it wouldn't affect my delivery date.

The next message he sent stated he added the manual cover to my order and would then check to confirm it did not affect my date.

Next time I logged into my account, the steps were gone as if I had never started them.

My guide says this is only due to a glitch in the website that they are working on and that it should be fixed on 10/31. As of this morning, my steps are still not restored, although when I click the link in my email to sign the Purchase Agreement, it loads and still shows the original VIN I was assigned.

Trying to get my guide to state in writing that my VIN won't change and that the delivery date won't be affected, but have not received that yet.

Will be really upset if a question I asked of my guide was misunderstood and now my delivery timing will be affected.

I was slated for a Dec. 2022 - Jan 2023 delivery date, so still early but still.
Have you received any update on your order, or had step 8 open up? I received my steps at the same time, and am in NH, so I've been checking my email every hour for weeks hoping to get my truck!

I have reached out to my guide once a week since the steps disappeared and he keeps replying to say the website fix is taking longer than expected. This past Monday, 11/14, he mentioned he was expecting it to be fixed this week but then again, he said that a few weeks back as well. Not a criticism of him, I'm sure he is getting a stock answer from the development team, but does not give me much to go on.

He did confirm that the original VIN I was assigned should remain the one that I ultimately get and he didn't think this hiccup would delay my delivery date.

On a side note, during the 8 step process I made it to the Purchase Agreement and at that time, I received a link that sent me to a document requiring my digital signature. When I revisit that email and click the link, it still brings me to the proper Purchase Agreement and the information prefilled on it is the same as when the steps were open.

Keeping my fingers crossed that it will open back up again soon but really, I just want that email to schedule my delivery!!

I have to imagine that the computer error shouldn't be a factor in the readiness of your vehicle, my guess is both of ours are either still in route, or on the lot pending QA or something. Either way, looks like I'll have a charger installed before I have a truck!​

I had my 8 steps disappear the beginning of October. I asked my guide if it was a glitch and he said it wasn’t and that I would need to be matched to a new vehicle. After my 8 steps opened again (4 weeks later), I noticed it was the same VIN and I asked my guide if he knew what was going on. He said that my R1S, along with many other vehicles, was held for “testing” at the plant. My guess is that there was some sort of fix they made to a whole batch of vehicles before they sent them out in order to avoid mass service work purchase.

One question, is the R1T delivered by flatbed or they drive here? On the document about to sign, it says estimate 100 mileage. (that's a lot for a brand new truck.)

Sometimes, depending on the distance from the SC... they flat bed it most of the way, then drive it the last mile to your delivery address.

Your post gave me hope the steps would reappear soon as I approached the 1 month mark of their disappearance and sure enough, I woke up this morning and logged in to see the steps have been restored to my account.

That's certainly a positive sign, and to encourage you more, I got the text today, delivery is happening next week! Chelsea SC probably will contact you soon too, I'd bet.
