Works fine when awake or plugged in, so shouldn't be calibration but suppose wouldn't hurt.
I thought about that too but ruled it out as a possible fix once I read through the calibration procedure. Let me know if you tried it and it resolved the issue. Otherwise, I have a service appt mid December to address the 2 recall notices (cold weather headlamps and F directional lamps). I’ll mention it to the service reps at that time. I’m sure we are not the only ones to experience this issue.

I would be happy if the app vent windows feature worked properly. On my Gen 2 R1T, first try only vents the passenger side, then I need to close and re vent to get all 4 to vent. Same on close, need to do it twice. This happens 100% of time when the truck is sleeping prior to sending the command.
Hello, my 2025 R1S just started doing this last week. Prior to last week, it was working correctly (both driver and passenger sides vent when command is sent and vehicle is in sleep mode).

Now, like you, when command sent from sleep mode, only passenger side vents. Then I must close them and initiate the command again for both passenger and driver side to vent. If it is awake and I send the command, it works fine. Only when the command is sent and vehicle in the sleep mode is when I have the issue.

I thought maybe when I did the latest OTA update it would resolve but it didn’t. Next, I tried a soft OS restart holding down the 2 outside thumb buttons on the steering wheel but that did not resolve it either.

Living with it for now. Cool rainy weather is here for the next 6 to 8 months so the feature won’t be of much value until summer of 2026 arrives.
Add me to the list. Never noticed this before but yep, only vents on the passenger side when waking from sleep. When car is awake, it vents both sides correctly.

Did either of you open a ticket or get an answer on this?

I never opened a ticket nor got an answer when discussed during a SC visit. Honestly, I figured it was not worth it. The issue is probably buried deep in SW code and I figured it would be better left alone. I decided it was not that big of an issue. Two windows open usually does the job. If I feel it is necessary to have all four windows vented then I close the two and immediately vent them again while the vehicle is awake. It then works correctly.

Should this feature work correct on this vehicle, absolutely! But on the grand scale of life, it’s only the most minuet inconvenience.

I was at the Tualatin, OR SC on Monday, June 7th to have the headlamp control modules replaced. As you recall, this was a NTSA recall for some modules failing in ultra cold temperatures (never gets that cold in western Oregon)

While waiting (it was a quick service call) I asked about the window venting issue while the vehicle is in sleep vs. wake mode. They claimed no one had brought it to their attention. I discovered that this issue also only closes the passenger side when all 4 windows are vented and you select the close command from the app while the vehicle is in sleep mode. Previously, I thought it was only on the open command. Similar to the open command, It will close the driver side from the app once the vehicle is awake.

The service rep offered a plausible explanation. He said on Gen2 vehicles, there are computers for the left and right side (driver and passenger sides). He said it's possible the drivers side wakes up second or is slightly slower to wake up. By the time it is awake, the command has expired so the windows don't open. He suggested bringing this to Rivian's attention so software can investigate. He said it may not receive top priority but they will eventually get to it. It is very likely something related to software or firmware that can be easily address through on of the OTA updates.
