How did your delivery go?
Sorry for the delay. Got my insurance last week. Paid on Saturday and picked up my R1S on Monday at the Costa Mesa SC. Everything went very smooth - all the new software updates were loaded and we spent some time just going through the basics. Drove it home and put it in the driveway as I had to get out to SEMA. I get back tomorrow night and can't wait to put it through the paces over the next few days. Will send photos and updates later.

Quick things that I noticed:
- mine is a next gen with no 12V in the frunk.
- I actually love the Spotify interface - I logged in and all my playlists were available. Super convenient and easy.
- I set up Sirius XM using bluetooth - also super easy.
- This is the exact opposite setup in my Audi, which has Sirius XM as primary and Spotify through bluetooth. I like the Rivian setup better.
- All the panels and paint look awesome. I will post some pics over the weekend when I am back.
- No issues with the air compressor nozzle. Although the entire plastic surround seems to be hanging on by a thread. But pretty minor issue.
- Kneel mode is pretty awesome.
- I quickly tested sport mode out and it was very herky jerky and a really rough ride. Will need to test this mode out more.
- Not a huge fan of the wireless charging location, definitely hard to see the phone - already purchased an aftermarket product to allow me to see my phone easier.

Otherwise I got a lot of heads turning on my way home, people pointing and apparently while I was away a bunch of trick or treaters in the neighborhood were awestruck at the R1S parked in the driveway.

I am super pumped to get some miles on it!

I haven't changed my config in 2 years with similar specs/order date as you and I'm in the same delivery window. I haven't seen anyone with an Ocean Coast interior get a delivery window before the April-June window. I think its just the interior batching which is dictating the delivery windows at this point, but only they (Rivian) knows...or maybe they don't even know.
I have an earlier delivery window than that.

Congrats you have an FE interior. I was referencing no known Ocean Coasts interiors for an r1s before the April - June delivery window.

Ordered mine on 11/28/18.
Had my Guide call on 4/12/22. Was told a May/June 2022 delivery.
June 11 email that pushes delivery to October-December 2022 delivery.
October 9 email about completing my purchase and was assigned a VIN (which I did not write down).
October 13 my wall charger was delivered.
October 16 I log into my Rivian account to check on things and I no longer have a VIN, I reach out to my Guide to see what is going on.
October 17 my Guide tells me there were production issues with my R1S and they will be finding another R1S for me.
October 28 I check my Rivian account and it says December delivery.
That would officially put me over the 4 year time frame.

This whole lottery system of a que that the preorder process has evolved into has really quelled my excitement after almost 4 years of free advertising for Rivian, telling friends, family how great they are just to be treated as though I don't exist.

It sucks to be on the list that long. As for my story. My reservation was Nov 2019. I bailed when RJ raised the prices, came back when he rescinded the increase. Then my reservation got LOST! Countless polite, yet persistent calls and chats resulted in getting my R1S in late Sept. GW, Black interior 22" wheels. I"m thinking after all of the crap I went thru, someone at Rivian got caught doing something good for me. Very grateful. Has exceeded my expectations so far. Minimal problems, great customer service. I hope all of those waiting hang in there. Its definitely worth the wait.

Good for you although surprised since there are people who ordered a year before you and did not bail out in March.

You are right. Not sure what I did to jump ahead of people. I went from being pissed they lost my reservation to jumping for joy that I am driving my R1S and loving it. I'm thinking the universe smilled on me.

I GOT A GUIDE!!

Finally, after 4 years, 1.5 months.

Locked my config (still Adventure, still OC, which is holding me back). But as a Nov. 2018 holder, he said he could bump me up to LE if I want, and he scanned the list of currently-available LEs (already built, that others had backed out of). Sort of a functional R1S shop, even if the R1S shop isn't fully up and running yet. There were two I thought about jumping at, but decided not to. He said he'll get back to me as more become available.

No firm news until the January updated estimates come out. But it's nice to feel like I finally exist. And that the end of this journey may be in sight.

P.S. It turns out, after having the option and taking a hard look at it, that I'm not crazy about Launch Green. Forest Green, though, I would probably take.

Dec 2018 checking in. LE R1S. Canada (which is why I'm still waiting). Was told Feb/Mar. Hopefully that sticks. It's been a long wait so far.
