So I reached out to my guide today. She finally responded a few hours later to let me know the replacement truck (YT) doesn't have the off road protection package........which I ordered.

They had assigned me that VIN over a week ago and they are just telling me two days before delivery?

Rivian R1T R1S Saw my yet to be delivered truck on YT just now doh

What a circus.

Awaiting a response to the questions of do I get a refund for price difference and what is the ETA to be matched with yet another R1T.

**UPDATE**

I would get a price difference refund (around 2k) and the only difference between this offroad package and standard is the amount of underbody that is covered by the off road protection underneath. This particular vehicle still has the tow hooks. It's supposed to be same material, just less of it, according to guide.

Just received my buyers agreement to sign. Two observations...

1) Looks like the math may be wrong on it
2) It shows 100 miles on the OD
**EDIT** solved, read below replies regarding mileage

That truck had 7 miles on it in the YT video, which about 5 days ago! Looks like I am going to refuse this delivery and elevate this up the chain. Total incompetence. The guide texted this to me yesterday "everything here is broken right now"...

the 100 miles is a maximum. For example, every car I’ve ever bought new has had a provision that there could be “delivery miles”, wether its from end of line testing, moving around shipping terminals, going to fuel it before delivery, etc.

Good to know.

So it says 100 miles on all Rivian buyer agreements for mileage?

The way this whole transaction has been going I am paranoid.

I would not accept delivery or sign any paperwork.
After waiting all this time, what’s the point in getting a truck that’s not exactly what you want?
As for sharing the VIN and video, who cares? The VIN is assigned to the truck not you and even as the owner it doesn’t make much of a difference. I’m sure some lawyer dude will explain the unending legal ramifications of VIN and personal information. I wouldn’t care all that much.

My buyers agreement said 100 miles as well, but the actual mileage was only 23 miles when delivered.

My buyers agreement also said 100 miles and my truck had 35 on delivery.

At this point I am planning to accept the truck. Last thing to work out is getting Rivian to send me something acknowledging the refund they owe besides just listing that I paid them 2k more than the truck's new price. I won't rock crawl with the the Rivian so if the only thing different is less under body protection I am ok with it.

Guide confirmed that once the truck hits my yard, its mine. The driver will not take it back under any circumstances. At that point I have two options if there are any issues with the vehicle. Arrange service or make contact with guide and invoke the 7 day guarantee.

Thanks to all for the thoughts, opinions, advice and experiences.

I hope that your patience is rewarded with a flawless truck which is a delight to drive and which gives you many years of a fantastic ownership experience.

I think this is pretty standard most places. I know Massachusetts has a mileage disclosure page they stick in your package to sign, then the dealer rep tells you your Defender has seven miles on it…

The truck made it to our house, everything was good with it. Well, except one carpet peg that was not mounted into the carpet/floorboard as it should be. Other than that everything else was solid.

The truck had 17 miles on it when delivered.

We did get confirmation we would be receiving a check for the price difference in the vehicles.

Our R1T was in really good shape (paint, wheels, glass, interior trim, body panels , etc.) except for the aforementioned defect.

Overall happy, but slightly paranoid about longevity. I worry about the automatic bed cover, (to a lesser extent) the air suspension and the motors. I absolutely expect the tonneau to fail at some point (as someone else said, it feels out of place with the rest of the truck parts).

Perhaps the things I mentioned never become an issue and that would be great.

But so far so good.

Congrats! We all have our things but just enjoy the truck. Know that there are at least less things to go wrong with an EV than an ICE vehicle and air suspensions have been around a while now. It will fail at some point I'm sure somewhere, but I think that will be pretty far down the road.

That tonneau cover is definitely going to have some issues. We all just get to hope we're the lucky ones. Whenever I do get my truck, I don't see using it a whole lot so I'm not that worried. Mine will be closed a great majority of the time. It's why I'd prefer the manual one, and if we start to see builds with manual ones, I'll switch back, but right now I'm just giving my best opportunity to get one at some point. :)

I may share the video link. Just hesitant because it shows the entire VIN
It's already public on YouTube, so who cares
