Tire Rotation Schedule

Sport tires might need more frequent rotations since they aren't going to last as long.

A consideration I did not consider. I'll update my OP to include tires that was recommended for.

So I'll add to this. If you ask Service HQ, they will tell you 6k and the SC will tell you 9k (I have the AT, if that matters). I just had them do it anyway at 4k because it was already there and they were already replacing a tire.

I rotated mine when I installed my new wheels (5K miles). I tire gauged all four and they looked perfect. I'm going to move up to 6K miles (20" A/T) now based upon great wear patterns.

5 tire rotation is a good idea for if you have a spare for a few reasons:

1. Avoids super uneven tread if you do have to use a spare in practice (e.g. due to a flat)
2. Extends the practical time between tire purchases by 20% (also makes it 20% more expensive…)
3. You can do it at home one wheel at a time with a jack if you want, whereas a 4-tire rotation needs a lift.

Great, sounds like a wonderful idea for at least the first 3-4 rotations...but thinking instead of purchasing 5 new tires when all are worn significantly, will probably change to 4 tire rotation with 4 new tires, and leave the nearly worn out tire as a true "spare", to use for emergency until the bad tire is replaced.

I drive aggressively on 21" road tires and waited until 10k to rotate. My front right tire needs replacement and front left is close. Rear tires are still in good condition. I'll probably replace both fronts and keep the one as a spare. And I'll rotate at more like 5k next time.

I was just told by Rivian to rotate my 22" sport darks at 7500. I'm at 7497 so they scheduled a mobile tech for next week. Dallas.
