Stopped by Dallas location today. Currently one launch green R1S and many R1Ts in all colors except yellow, red and black on lot. They don't want folks entering the fenced in area where the vehicles are kept (even have a large tower with cameras installed for surveillance) but don't mind folks walking the fence line. Employee said they have delivered around a half dozen R1S so far. Saw some lucky folks from Oklahoma arrive to take delivery....

That's counter intuitive. If they let people look sort of like they do in normal showrooms; it would be free marketing and goodwill. They're cars not Crown Jewels!

They were all in a somewhat uneven grass lot. "Liability issues" mentioned when we asked. Really not a big deal: it is a delivery and service center; not a showroom.

Back on topic: they were in the midst of preparing the opposite side of the property for a paved lot. Maybe once that is done, some of the vehicles will be stored there and it will be easier to do some browsing.

I also stopped by the SC late in the afternoon on Saturday. I didn't see my truck there, but just got my email to schedule delivery today. Date is set for this Wednesday! That is a crazy timeline - guide contact on 9/06 and delivery scheduled 9/14...

Yep -- it looks like they are really gearing up on the delivery schedule. I got a notice about mine being delivered to HTX last Wednesday, following the Holiday on Monday, and am set to pick it up tomorrow (fingers crossed). LA Silver and Ocean Coast.

I still have access to the empty vehicle shop since 19th August and no guide contact yet. I have been playing with confirguration, mainly the wheels, kind of undecided, so had been curious about the estimated delivery window, so contacted the customer care via chat. Window has become a month wider, now stands at October-December 2022. June mail had it as Oct-Nov 2022. I have decided not to touch the configuration anymore, details in my signature.

Where does everyone in TX stand w getting a guide assigned ?? I ordered 8/13/21 and have an Oct-Nov window and live in Roanoke. I’ve heard nothing yet

Ordered mar 20, LE R1S. Oct - Dec time frame. Never a guide or first ride or anything. Austin area.

I got a guide/guide contact about the same time as I received contact about my 8-step agreement. That was all approximately 2-3 weeks before my delivery (~12 hours ago). ??

What was your original wheel config?

20” AT Bright.

In between I changed it to 21” because there were rumors: 20” AT are in short supply or Rivian wants to sell more of the mileage oriented model etc. Personally I like the AT brights compared to the regular AT, but these are not so popular among members, so changed to go with regular AT, shamelessly hoping to be part of popularity group, none of this seems to have worked in my favor. So, I have switched back to my original configuration( except the max pack, which I had removed long time back) and waiting (in)patiently.

I live in Euless and had Sep-Oct window. Guide contact 9/06, 8 steps opened 9/07, VIN assigned 9/08, ready for delivery email 9/12. Barely had time to sell my Ford to Carmax, get check cleared and pay down payment yesterday. Pick-up of R1T scheduled this afternoon. I also had issues with my current insurance company as they don't have Rivian in their system yet, so had to get a policy on just the Rivian from LIberty Mutual for now. I also had issues with Plaid (used for down payment) and had to wire the down payment instead. Was a stressful day trying to keep things lined up for delivery today to happen.
