As I sit in my sons bedroom while trying to get him to sleep i can’t help but notice the last R1S specific post was days ago…have we collectively burned ourselves out speculating and hypothesizing when our new toys will arrive? I check for updates on this site 5-10 times a day hoping someone ( anyone ) breaks through with a solid development - alas - they never do. Maybe this is the first time in the history of the internet that rampant speculation has run its course and we are now all just sitting with sad faces waiting for our phones to ring.

one day my fellow R-S’ers…one day.
So what will happen when someone breaks through the "barrier" with a solid development? What impact does that have on you, your family, your situation now? In the next week? In the next month? Very likely none at all if I had to guess. If that's the case, there's no need to anxiously await developments until they become relevant enough to you that they impact your life in the foreseeable future. It's just like worrying about something that's entirely out of your control: it does no good.

I figure the pandemic put things 2 years behind. In '19 we thought 21, it slid to 22. In 20, we thought 22. In 21, we thought 23, but got excited by the R1T crowd finally getting a few of theirs. I'm still thinking mid '23 most people will have theirs.

R1S = where S stands for soon. Or is it someday. I forget it's been so long.

Honestly - I LIKE the silence - I don't understand what value there is in fabricating scenarios in your head to get overly excited about - only to be let down, or to get upset about with no factual basis to back it up. Those two activities seem to literally define every form of communication on the internet now - we're all so bored with everything in life we have to fabricate problems, or future scenarios just to stir up any emotion good or bad (mostly bad).

I wish we could reset back to a time when stoicism was a thing, and we would get on with our lives, waiting silently for actual facts and details, and then responding accordingly to those things. there'd be 90% less BS to sort though, less wish fulfillment, less "would you still love me if I were a worm?" content, and more relevant data that actually meant something.

So yeah, I welcome the silence. Let the hype die and let's all operate in the realm of realities and probabilities, not "possibilities".
I happen to agree...without the never ending what-if cycle maybe we wouldn't be saddled with social media

It doesn’t make an ounce of difference to me - I am just excited to get the vehicle. What did make a difference to me, as it did many others, was managing my current vehicle line up as it related to maintenance - I just spent $4700 on a service for my Porsche that, had I known my rivian would be with me within weeks I would have left to the next owner. There is no anxiety on my part - my kids on the other hand treat the arrival of a new car with the same level of excitment as Christmas Day so they need info more than me.

by no means was I trying to convey some sense of desperation - it will arrive when it arrives - I was just making an observation that this group had greatly reduced, after 2+ years, speculating about the R1S. I come to this forum because I enjoy engagement as I believe many others do as well.

Are you typing this in the woods?
No, I'm typing this from one of the casino resort in Las Vegas. We decided to take couple of days off late mid week for a short get a way.

Now, I'm headed to the pool...
