We’ve had effectively zero snow this year in SE PA. I didn’t get my RAM wheels & snow tires until the end of January, and decided to wait to swap them until a big snow was forecast, which never happened. So they sit in the workshop, unmounted.

Maybe by next snow season they’ll have a feasible solution worked out. I guess they missed the “I’m an owner and I want to swap in smaller diameter wheels for snow tires” “user story”.

So I wanted to come back on here after my mobile appointment to clarify any misunderstandings from others following this thread.

My cost to have them adjust my computer for speedometer and mileage estimates along with computer image was $120 total. They did advise me that the only thing not able to be done mobile was the recalibration of the cameras as reported before. However there is a caveat to this it only effects the stitching of the image for the Birds Eye view camera. No Driver+ issue result from not having the cameras recalibrated.

Furthermore after the appointment was completed I activated the bird eye view camera and found very small black auras around only the front tires when they are turned in either direction (as seen in the attached images). When wheels aren’t turned there is no distortion at all. Basically the need for camera recalibration is more cosmetic in nature for the screen view than actual function and even the cosmetic issue is so nominal I don’t believe I will ever get it corrected unless it goes to the shop for something else as it jus doesn’t seem like a big deal to me.

basically what I am getting at is if you want to swap wheels from 22” to 20” don’t be deterred by the camera issue or cost as it really is irrelevant. I hope this post helps.

I have the same stitching issue with my "calibrated" factory 22's so no guarantee that it fixes that anyways. Doesn't bother me though.

Great info. Thanks!

I know it’s some work to calibrate, but it also seems ridiculous that it’s this involved and they charge $120 to do something that should be a user configurable option in the UI.

They need to fix the software so a recal is not needed on tire sizes (or precalibrate it on all possible sizes).
