SOLVED: Apparently the 46 update broke some portion of the communication between the truck and its speakers in this case. A full restart has solved the issue and everything sounds great again. Thanks to those who read/responded.
I tried finding a thread on this, but was unsuccessful, so I'll do my best to describe the issue.
Last night I was driving home from work in my R1T (elevation audio, not meridian) and listening to music through Spotify. A song I have heard a million times over the last 20 years came on and I was struck that some (for lack of a better description) elements of the song were inaudible. My first thought was that maybe it was something to do with Spotify's version of the song, so I paired my phone and asked it to play the same song via Apple Music instead. However, that had the same issue: some background vocals were simply not audible.
As I drove, I found several other songs that had the same issue where a specific element of the song (sometimes a vocal, sometimes a specific instrument) just didn't come through. In each case, I also played the song from both the built-in Spotify app as well as via Bluetooth from Apple Music, and the missing elements was the same from both sources.
Once I arrived home, I played the 3 songs I has found on my drive with the most notable missing elements on my home stereo and they played exactly as I remember them being (with the missing elements).
It seems that there is some frequency band(s) that my R1T's speakers are simply not able to reproduce? I am not enough of an audiophile to immediately know how to narrow down what frequencies are the issue, but would love to hear any theories or if anyone has any similar experiences.
If you want to test on your vehicle, the 3 songs I narrowed down to were:
The Beatles - Money (That's What I Want): The piano at the very beginning of the song was almost inaudible, I couldn't hear much until the drums come in at about 4 seconds.
Orgy - Blue Monday: The melody that starts at about 9 seconds is pretty much completely inaudible, while the drums come in fine. I was able to barely hear it once I parked the truck, but with any amount of road noise it was completely obfuscated.
Dream Theater - The Glass Prison: The "response" vocals starting at ~3:04 ("Cunning, Baffling, Powerful" comes in fine, the next line "Been beaten to a pulp" is inaudible)
Anyway, any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!
