It was, obviously, not for me! I guess I was just expecting a little more bang for the buck from:
"Smart Charging Schedule Recommendation that automatically shifts home charging to off-peak hours for cheaper and cleaner energy with savings of 20 percent or more"

But, if it helps someone (who is otherwise unable to read their electric bill) save a little money and at the same time help the environment then it is obviously a win! Good job Rivian!

This is what I came here to check! I found the exact same issue (different state - same time setup, and same annoying reset to midnight). While I'm not happy that it is replicated, and you have the same schedule problems I do.... I'm happy it's replicated since that should make it an easier fix for the devs.
100% this - its where I hope that RIvianRoamer get the bugzilla like functionality up and running :). If we all (or many of us) have an issue - then it's nothing to be worried about, it's the outliers that are problems.

There's no TOU plan here (yet), so the update isn't really helpful for me at this point. What would be useful, though, is the ability to designate multiple home/charging locations and set schedules for each of them. Half the time I'm at our orchard, I forget that there is TOU there, plug in, and get hammered on the electrical bill that month.

I think the biggest change is able to have more complicated TOU times than a simple on or off for peak or non peak.

Is there a way to have more complicated TOU times? All I see, and all it recommends from my utility provider, is ON at non-peak and off when the rate period ends.

Not sure. My utility is simply on/off with one peak period per day. Is yours normally like that? Maybe someone else with a more complicated TOU can tell if Rivian is able to adapt to that.

My TOU rate periods are as follows:
  • Peak Weekdays: (2 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
  • Off-Peak Weekdays: (6 a.m. – 2 p.m. & 6 p.m. – 12 a.m.)
  • Off-Peak Weekends and Holidays: (6 a.m. – 12 a.m.)
  • Super Off-Peak All Days: (12 a.m. – 6 a.m.)

So does the app apply 2 off peak periods on weekdays? Or is it just once a day? The old charging schedule in the truck would only allow once a day off peak.

It's pretty close. I've been prioritizing getting the vehicle telematics feature out the door since there's a large demand for it and the income from it will help give me more time to keep building features.

I think everyone will be pleased with the bug/feature reporting on RR. It'll automatically record things like app version/vehicle software version, notify you when bugs are closed, etc.

For me it is just a junk SPAM marketing ploy to get me to sign up for an overpriced Octopus energy plan on which Rivian gets a commission. (As I have noted before 85% of Americans have fixed rate utilities, not TOU.)
