Simple Frunk / Front Trunk Lighting Solution

Follow up: as the weather got warmer, the adhesive was losing hold, and the lights would fall into the trunk area. While not a huge deal (i.e. no damage), it got annoying. I got some mend plates from Home Depot, removed the liner, drilled some holes, installed the plates using machine screws/nuts, reinstalled the liner. Works great.

If you can find them, I suggest getting black plates so they blend in better. My location did not have any, so I just settled. At just under $4 for each pair, I can swap them out if my OCD can't take anymore.

I bought a similar light but wanted a simpler solution. While not overhead, it does fix the lighting issue for me. Extra bonus since it’s just attached to the frunk shelf magnet is I can easily grab it and charge it or move it where needed. Took me 3 seconds once Amazon delivered.

Great idea! I keep two InstaCrates on top of the divider (and a cooler underneath it), so I need to see if that position will work to light up the frunk enough. Thanks for posting!

Update on my setup: works beautifully.

Auto on works perfect, gives me all the light I need. Has never budged off of magnet.

Added bonus I hadn’t considered. Sometimes I leave my frunk open, for example in the garage loading stuff going in and out of the house. That used to leave me with zero light once the frunk lights turned off. Now this is the only light. Seems trivial but a huge difference for me.

These push button battery puck lights work great also. The lighting in the bed is also to low to be effective once something is in the bed.
