This is great! Now we'll get yet another set of YouTube "reviews", covering the same content that has been out for months, to be posted as nauseam on every Rivian forum/group by folks too lazy to see what they want to post has already been posted 100 times.

not really. At first there was only black mountain but FE trucks have been coming our pretty consistently for a while now.

Configure a pricier vehicle and you will move up to the front of the line. Like magic.
If I were Rivian I would even make this more obvious. The trucks are selling for 120k on eBay.

I am so mad… how dare Rivian give him a Pelican case for his keys, I didn’t get one of those…

Life is so unfair… I now hate Rivian…. ?

Giving Kyle an R1T is like giving a Rivian engineer one to take to South America for testing. Except they don’t pay Kyle, they get paid by Kyle and get some free advertising. We get some good reviews and information about the truck we could never get from Rivian. Waiting a little longer may also mean less of a chance you will have to get your drive unit replaced. It is all good folks.

I think its a crazy rare combo, tbh. They offered this one to him after someone changed their mind for sure, and thought....who would snap this up the quickest?

I didn't get that cool Pelican case that contains the keys and stuff and my plastic screen protectors were already removed.

Anyone else not get the case?

He’s that guy twas on here a few months ago offering $1k for your place in line. You were going to cancel anyways, right ???????

Did he spill the beans on how he got it? There’s the familial Magna connection if we’re speculating….

For me, I'm not particularly annoyed at Kyle considering various forums and Reddit all have reports of people with 2022 pre-order dates taking delivery. At least Kyle will produce content that I'll likely find entertaining. It's more Rivian playing a game with this "pilot" program giving anyone a truck just to test out, well I'm not exactly sure what twas tested, to then roll out the R1 Shop later.

Why not roll out the R1 Shop when they announced they'd only be making around 15k R1Ts this year. That would've cleaned out the junk orders of people no longer interested and not ready for delivery and would've given those who are truly flexible to any config the ability to communicate that to Rivian. As someone with a Q4 2022 delivery window I was pretty skeptical I'd make the cut this year anyway but it's actually a bit more frustrating now because I could get the call anytime between today and December.

I was supposed to get an update on my config by mid-this week. Confirmed with CS. So that means I may hear something in a couple of months. It is rather confounding and unfair that people that pre-ordered in early 2022 have received their vehicles. One person said they placed a pre-order and 40 days later received their truck. Meanwhile many here with LE's from 2018/2019 are still waiting. Obviously, I don't begrudge these folks getting their vehicles but come on now.
Got a US address you can use?

Otherwise it’s a non starter for us in Canada, with transport Canada approval not having happened yet, and rivian not being on the RIV admissibility list.
It seems increasingly likely that nothing will happen here until after September.

I‘d use my mother in law’s address in the US if it would actually work. But even then, max pack isn’t much sooner.

Now do a Race to Vegas part 2!

Why? The inconsistent charging speed of the Rivian's 400v charging architecture would probably put it just ahead of the last place Mustang.

Best not go down that road!

Honestly, I find everyone bitching about this to just be naive. The idea that your reservation number buys you an exact spot in line is childish and not how any other vehicle manufacturer currently operates. Many people waited over a year to get a Model Y. We got 2 in the span of 8 weeks because of where we live and what we ordered. Same deal with the Bronco and many other hard to get vehicles. The logistics of part availability, quality control, delivery location, and service center all come in to play. And oh hey, a company that has to fight every single day to still exist in five years might also prioritize giving a vehicle to someone that will create huge swaths of high quality content for them for free. Sorry you're butthurt, but this is America. "Fair" is a fairytale.
