IPO's are only designed to break even or make money for institutional investors and/or insiders that buy at a discount in the near term. General public can break even but it's a long term play for sure....Decade(s). You may get lucky, but most do not.
Yes, I realize it is a decade+ investment if it is to be profitable. There have been times in the past few years that it seemed like a total loss (ie Rivian was flirting with insovancy or a bargain basement buyout target - which it could still be).

By the time the Scout EREV shows up, modern EV will have fast charging that will make EREV mostly obsolete.

Not at all surprised. There's no market for it in this economy.

Respectfully, I'm not trying to offend anyone; I said you could build it, but there are big compromises, and I stand by that. There's a lot more engineering that needs to go into adding both a V6 ICE and a 92kW-hr battery pack. Yes, there's a website with specs listed today, but there was a page for the now defunct RAM1500EV truck for years, yet we never even saw test vehicles on the road.
Putting ICE upfront makes sense to make the skateboard platform work, but the ICE needs lots of systems that EVs don't use: intake air path, exhaust path, gas tank, separate cooling system from the battery thermal management system, SMOG, etc.. There's the penalty of weight in efficiency and towing from all that extra metal. Yes, you can put a HD truck frame with enough extra strength to handle the extra truck weight (I'm guessing a 9,000lb curb weight truck) and still be capable of 14K lbs towing, but it's not provided without compromises.
Personally, I'd be very sad to lose my frunk; I use it weekly. Silverado and F150 EV users reported this was a favorite feature too.
I’m interested in seeing how the new grand wagoneer erects will be received. Supposed to be around June this year. I would personally prefer an even smaller battery (40-50kw) and the V6 generator. I’m guessing they sized the 92kw to meet a more average US daily commute range. Definitely no free lunch though. That added weight and complexity eats into range and maintenance.

And don't forget reliability! Double the components means half the reliability.

Also risk of fire goes up. The type of vehicle most likely to go up in flames is the hybrid. And it makes intuitive sense - gasoline for easy ignition right next to lithium ion for a long burn.

Quadruple since it’s stellantis ;) I’ve actually owned a few jeeps and have been problem free. But can’t pass an easy dig at them

There are trade offs for any platform: EV, ICE, hybrid, plugin hybrid, EREV.
EREVs are a growing segment in China, so they’ve shown it can work and it popular, and are a great option in more rural locations or where charging infrastructure is limited. That’s the use case for me, extended road trips. I have an R1T and it’s not good for that because of the terrible charge curve and range. Sure it won’t be as efficient as an BEV but it fits my need for daily driving battery only but having extended range for long drives.

If Rivian releases a faster charging gen3 R1, the point of an EREV is really moot.
