Rodents and soy-based wire insulation

Just resurrecting this thread… waiting to speak with the service rep, but my cameras stopped working a couple months back. My trucks in service now and I can see they added pictures to my issue in the rivian app that are showing wiring that looks chewed into.

I’m pretty confident that if that’s what happened I’m unable to keep the truck any longer as I can’t park anywhere safer than outside. I can’t imagine the hell of an all electric vehicle having mice reeking havoc in wiring!

I haven't had luck with the peppermint, but in our hangar we use granules soaked in predator urine which seems to make most of the mice go to our neighbor's hangars.

It is basically kitty litter with fox urine in it (claimed anyway, it has very little odor that I can detect)

I've bought it from the hardware store and off of Amazon.

For $10/month extra, our local exterminator will add an extra bait station in any location that we feel is vulnerable. Bait stations seem to be very attractive to rodents.

We have one bait station under the front of each Rivian, thus a total of $20/month.

Because this location is near the middle of each garage door, I figure this also helps to keep rodents from accessing the house via the garage.

I'd call your exterminator. They aren't that expensive, and they can set up traps around the outside of your house to keep the mouse population down.

Mine were eaten through and the repair was very expensive. The RIVIAN service tech recommended that I place dryer sheets in the area to deter the rodents.
