Is the Rivian Wall Charger worth it? I currently have a Clipper Creek model that we have used on a Tesla, Audi Q4 and my son's Hyundai Kona. Should I switch over?

It's an appliance. So long as your current one is working fine, there's no need to change it out. The Rivian one also seems to be more expensive than other equally as functional chargers out there. There's a few threads on here where people have had problems with their chargers, and Rivian wasn't too receptive to getting the things fixed.

If were in the market for another charger, I don't think I'd be looking at the Rivian one.

well said Mathme.

there’s no benefit to integration or delivery of power. They are all pretty much the same. I hardwired my Emporia and I get 11kw charging. My Rivian charger is still in the box.

No.

The Clipper Creek is a better unit.

I have two (different properties) and they are perfectly fine but no advantage over many others. If I were to buy another L2 I'd get one that runs on an 100 amp circuit.

I've used only a mobile charger for my Tesla, Rivian, and Zero, on a 30a outlet. My usage model has never demanded more. Putting in the 30a outlet cost $50.

I have 2 Autel 50A chargers. Amazon had great pricing on these a while back (around $400). Well constructed and work flawlessly. They can even be used with RFID cards to control access.

I would stick with what you have. But if looking for a great Charger Costco has the Wallbox on sale for $399. The benefit to that unit is you can have 2 in parallel running off 1 circuit and will throttle the power where needed. saves panel upgrades when having 2 electric vehicles
