You know how much everyone is complaining about the price being jacked up on their vehicles by 20% to make them 6 figures? Let's not forget that they still haven't told us what is included in membership and what is free nor its cost. For those of you that do decide to plunk down $100,000, you might not get lane-keep assist or automatic braking for free forever. They say, it's part of the basic package. But They also claimed that 4 wheel motors were included for all vehicles. That changed. Now it's an option that you pay more for.
I bet that they're going to quickly pivot to methods to improve their subscription revenue when the rubber hits the road. Once standard features become paid options, every. single. month. in perpetuity.
Rivian has clearly demonstrated that what you see is not what you get and that at any time they can change packages and options and drastically increase prices of the actual hardware. They will do the same with the software.
