? Oh my...2 teaspoons of wishful thinking...BUT I LOVE IT!! I still think it would be so much more "Rivianish Fun" if they would actually launch with the Launch Green!!I am super suspicious that the hunch a few of us had that LE would still get delivered first despite not being contacted first is correct.
Sort of. I don't even have a launch edition, so it doesn't actually matter to me, but I'm still trying to piece together where the hell the July and August deliveries are and giving Rivian the benefit of the doubt.? Oh my...3 teaspoons of wishful thinking...BUT I LOVE IT!! I still think it would be so much more "Rivianish Fun" if they would actually launch with the Launch Green!!
Pretty sure they said it’s based on where you plan to register the vehicle. My sister lives near Seattle. I have a late preorder but was thinking about putting her address in my account and picking it up there then road tripping it back. Think I'll get it a lot sooner than New Jersey?
Oh hi! I recognize this comment / youOK, so not much new to share, as I am sure everyone expected.
I think this is it. I can say I feel much better after talking with a guide. I don't really know much more than I did before, but I feel heard, which is a start. Hopefully more information will be flowing soon and hopefully more people get contacted by their reps.
- Still stated the plan is to have delivery at least by mid-late november, but hopefully sooner. I asked if this was a target or more safety net and they said safety net.
- EPA Estimates are planned "soon". Did say next few weeks. Same for other accessories like wench, etc.
- Test drives/tours planned to start in August
- Insurance reps are in house now. May be able to start talking with them about needs sooner than later. Typically this will happen during the finance steps before delivery.
- Tax rebates should be based on base vehicle price, not including accessories. They are monitoring it and will reach out as they learn more.
- Will be handled as an out of state purchase and delivered to your house directly. Said that purchasing will be as simple if not more so than a typical delivery purchase from a registration standpoint.
- Launch green looks pretty accurate to online renders. Said it looks great in person.
- Chase is the financial partner for financing if you are looking to finance.
- @ 9,000lbs towing, expect 50% reduction in range (actually said 49.6% remaining)
- LATCH support on all seats both on R1T/R1S for those with kids.
- Back window is stationary. Does not roll down or have slider
- Said back seat is very roomy with lots of leg room and room for child seats.
They said July, but guides are telling everyone by November. Lol. Whatever.
Nope. Told me mid-August.They said July, but guides are telling everyone by November. Lol. Whatever.
What do you mean?!? I promise it is original/authentic. Did someone steal my identity? /sOh hi! I recognize this comment / you
Excellent recap. It closely resembles my conversation as well (I didn't learn anything new either, but it sure did quiet that small doubt that had crept into the back of my mind). All of the Guides seem genuinely happy and excited to bring these products to market and put them in customer's hands.I had my guide conversation with Martin this afternoon. He's based out of Normal and is one of the Guides for the Western States region. (nice dude!) He's been with Rivian since October 2020. He stated that his office is colocated near the production line and that production is currently moving slowly and methodically, and will accelerate once quality can be maintained at the increased throughput. I had 12 questions for Martin, and he had about half that for me (mostly verifying options and address). I kept to my 45 minutes, which he appreciated -- one recent phone call went 2 hours and 45 minutes. In the middle of the call, after confirming my options (Launch Green, Black interior, 20" tires), he 'pushed my order into production' and my delivery target was "by the end of October".
A few things I learned and have personally not yet heard/read:
-- Crash test ratings coming 'soon' -- nothing specific, but according to him they 'far exceeded his expectations'.
-- EPA ratings have been withheld - (my impression) it seems that they are waiting on the EPA to allow them to release the data. The information will be released prior to delivery of first vehicle.
-- I asked why the Offroad package was made optional recently and whether it was associated with range (and whether ordering it would have any impact on delivery). With respect to range he categorically said 'no' -- it was due to a lot of customers indicating they had no interest in the off road package. What he *did* indicate was that all of the first batches of vehicles delivered would have the offroad package.
-- 70+ percent of reservation holders are first time EV owners. This wasn't a question of mine, but he did say that the second contact from him in about a month would be related to owning / charging an EV since most have never done so. (I've owned two EVs and we'll either skip this converation or talk about something else).
-- Wall charger: Their plan is to have the wall charger both delivered and installed (coordinated by Rivian) prior to delivery of the R1T. This was great news to me.
-- Insurance: Maybe this was out there already, but the insurance they will offer sounds like it will cover mishaps that occur offroad... he indicated that this isn't always the case wtih standard insurance companies.
-- In 4 weeks, he will begin to push out vehicle operational videos (but perhaps these will also go out to the world...?)
-- He did *not* know the exact timing of test drives in the Seattle area, but thought mid-August. Said he would get back to me on this question.
-- They will have a local "delivery specialist" team that he will coordinate with when it is time for vehicle delivery. Like a Guide, a delivery specialist will be assigned to each vehicle.
-- I've wavered on a few accessories and he said that accessories do not affect delivery timing.
-- Second set of cross rails -- I asked how I could order two sets of cross rails. He made a note and they will be updating the accessory page in the coming month to allow for that.
Cheers!
