Recent Autonomy Platform update questions

Yesterday I got a notification that there was an Autonomy Platform update available over wifi. I was already on the latest update of 2024.39.32. A few questions about this update.
1. What is new in this update? I've seen indications of what was being worked on to add later this year and next, but no clear mention of what specifically was updated now.
2. Why does the Autonomy Platform update separately from the regular vehicle update?
3. Similarly, why must it be via wifi as opposed to OTA/LTE?
4. Have there been any indications as to when this will change to a pay service / how much / what will remain free?

Many software platforms have updates for components that do not involve a full system update. I suspect that they have done the same for the autonomy platform so they can more easily push out an update without having to wait for a full push.

As for wifi vs 5g - stumped on that one.

I also received a prompt this morning to connect to wifi for an autonomy update.

On a separate note I don't think my car is connecting to wifi properly - it never seems to load anything - map directions i have sent from the phone, Apple Music, etc. - while connected to wifi but does fine on LTE. Which will be a problem with this autonomy update.

I have yet to update mine too just because I always forget, when I drive it, thats when the pop up comes out. When I get home I forget.

It also asks me for wifi password every time. Shouldn't that be saved?

I think it’s a bug. Got the same prompt as on the pic. You can see I’m already connected to WiFi when that thing popped up.

To update I did the update last night. When I got in my car this morning I had all these errors like suspension , collision warning, sensors and even regen not working and I was on turtle mode. Cannot go over 19 miles/hr

I did the reset with the hazard signal lights and it was able to go back to normal.

Just guessing that maybe it is a map data update which could be data intensive and so they want it over WiFi instead mobile network?

It automatically updates once you are connected to wifi. You don’t have to do anything.

I think it’s a bug. Got the same prompt as on the pic. You can see I’m already connected to WiFi when that thing popped up.

This is a known bug, just disable your hotspot and your wifi should be working properly for downloading.

I never had the hotspot on so I don't think that that's the issue

Just got notice about autonomy platform update while driving tonight. Asking to connect to wifi. (Already on latest 2024.43)

Wonder what it’s for. Wish they had release notes for it!
