I've reopened a thread for this sole purpose, just so that the updates don't have to mix with the charging notifications. I will be monitoring that thread as often as I can, although I can't make promises.

As far as charging updates go, I haven't found as much news lately. That said, @Isaiah Louis has been doing a great job keeping the RANtracker account up to date.

On another side note, with the latest find in West Hartford (thanks, John), there are now 100 known RAN chargers on the map. While that number may fluctuate based on future information, that is still pretty big news.

Ahh, so Isaiah has taken over most updates on that Twitter account? If so, many thanks to Isaiah for keeping us in the know!!

Actually, if you look at the layout for either Tesla or Rivians you have to pull forward on one side or back in on the other in order to use. This orientation actually works out for both.

Did a long drive along the Skyline Drive and the entire Blue Ridge Parkway last week. We used a total of 8 different RAN sites. One thing we noticed is sometimes the cabinets would be lit up with a white light around the cabinet (turns green while charging) but not all of them. We sometimes chose the ones lit up and sometimes the ones not lit up. Didn't seem to be a difference. Did a chat with Rivian while charging at one of them and they had no idea why some would be lit and some not. I can't find any documentation anywhere that explains what the lights mean. There isn't even anything that says it will light up green while charging. One thing we suspected was maybe you are supposed to always pick the lit up ones first so the charging is spread across the cabinets evenly. For instance make sure to pick 2A if 1A is already in use. However, at one RAN site it was 1B and 1C lit up. At one site the color was pinkish white on one cabinet and that cabinet was actually down according to the display.

Related to that, I also suspect the cabinets weren't always labeled correctly. At some sites they were clearly in order like 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, and then 2C would be the trailer one but others were in order 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 1A and trailer 2C. The orientation of the cabinets is messed up on many of them as well. Some of them have the display facing backwards which makes no sense and many were sideways which also didn't seem to serve much practicality. They should all be facing forwards so you can read the display when you pull up or while charging.

Just saw on Twitter someone sniffed out they are putting one in Hartford, CT next to the REI. This is huge for me when going to New England from northern va. We usually go through New Jersey and up rt 15 in New York to Hartford and then mass turnpike to 495 and 93. Looks like a nice area with fast casual restaurants and some good stores too. Between this and the Christina Mall and belcamp md locations I feel like the New England corridor is doable with just ran.

Once the Tesla superchargers are available in New Hampshire and on the NJ turnpike there should be no near for EA stops.

Is there a RAN in Laguna? I thought there was but could not find it.

The RAN map says its a RAN station but that address is actually a Rivian space.

Checking Sacramento RAN daily to see when no longer free (still free as of now). And noticed that 5 of 6 chargers now show as 300kW-capable. Maybe this is future support for R2 - or maybe they are going to turn on a currently hidden faster rate in R1? Or, this is for non-Rivian EVs that can currently support faster rates (Kias, Taycan, etc), and Rivian will charge more for the faster rate. I am going to guess it is this last one. Will see once they unveil the pricing.

It's weird that it would be only 300 kW at 5 of 6 dispensers. Why wouldn't that 6th dispenser also be capable of 300 kW?
