Interesting. Pic of the mounting location to the mirror?
I too have successfully installed the Blendmount 3032 in my 2026 R1S Quad. There is a larger opening behind the mirror where the stem enters the mirror. The 3032's clamp fits somewhat within that opening to allow the mirror to swivel without restriction.

I use Waze on my phone, on a magsafe charger mounted to the dash, on left side of steering wheel. It yells "Police reported ahead!" with total accuracy out on the highways.

I heard great things about Waze...I've never used it. I believe it's only as good as the information it receives from those self-publishing police locations. But I imagine it won't help much if a cop is using laser. My girlfriend tells me just to drive the speed limit. Easy solution for that...she doesn't drive with me anymore.

My local LIDAR-loving moto cop is listed on Waze all the time. I run a LIDAR jammer on my motorcycle, which defeats him. I wonder what he thinks when I pass him repeatedly to test it.

Um yeah, that's how it works.

Otherwise though, Waze is just trash for actual routing. It rarely has a sane/best route.

I need power near the mirror for both a radar detector (V1) and a Dashcam. In my current 4Runner I used a mirror tap for the V1 and then used the Garmin "Constant Power Cable" OBD-II connector for the dashcam. Works great. The Garmin cable provides two USB ports, so I imagine you could only use this and run two wires up close to the mirror (Assuming it provides enough power). The V1 (and some other radar detectors) requires an RJ11 connector, so if you go that route you'll need an adapter.

Not sure why that adapter cable is 13' long. Could probably get by with half that length.

Umm, no. It's other Waze users who report police sightings. And there are thousands and thousands of us out there. Drivers are very proactive about reporting police. You might as well try it, it's free.

Again, I have it open on my phone (on a charger mount on the dash) while I'm on the highway, just for those warnings. I don't use it for navigation. They make it easy to report police, so people are very proactive about reporting them.

On the subject of countermeasures, I use a combination of my R8 and Highway Radar. HwR integrates with the detector and provides waze functionality and reporting.

There are many times where I get hit by a Highway Patrol or similar and no one has reported it yet.

Having both is certainly necessary in my opinion if you travel at a high rate of speed often.

For anyone following along, I measured my MirrorTap and can say, conclusively, it is the 15" variant.

I used it on the Gen1 and now the Gen2 with no problem.

Here are links to the exact one:
(manufacturer) https://blendmount.com/power-cord-m...amp-inline-fuse-with-military-grade-taps-kit/
(Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/MirrorTap-MTX-1015-Patented-Detector-Military/dp/B00L2SVV2U?th=1
This 14" mirror tap seems a little cleaner and I can confirm that it works great on a '26 R1S.

The smallest one of the 3 included was what I used.

I used the Blendtech 3032 mount along with it. Overall, I'm happy with the setup. The detector could sit a little further back towards the windshield, especially as the R8 is a bit large. The removal of the mirror housing was easier than I was expecting. I did not use any tools to assist with removal and replacing it was also fairly easy. I did follow this video that was posted previously in this thread: .
Basically, after pulling down the front using the opening abutting the windshield, I moved my fingers back towards the mirror, and did a combination of pulling down, while levering against my fingers. Took about 2 minutes to get it off successfully.

I lost one of the metal clips that hole the rear view mirror cover. Anyone know the part number or where to get one?

Aside from service, your best bet is to look at your remaining clip(s) take measurements and see of there is anything like it at mcmaster.com. Next option would be to look for donor cover from salvagers. Amazon also has several listening for assortment of automotive trim clips.

Reach out to your local Service Center...they will likely take a look and help you. They keep those on hand for service work. It's a very common clip.

Try one of the drawers from the specialty hardware aisle at Lowe's

Maybe I'm out of the loop, have had this for a couple years but noticed today my radar detector is not powering down. Did something change?

You're not the first to observe this. Gen 1 or gen 2? The vehicle does/did need to go to sleep for accessory power to turn off. Are you sure your R1 was asleep?
