The Hummer with the hood open looks like a giant mouth with big chomper teeth because of the grill design. I will have nightmares tonight.

I can appreciate the Hummer, but Rivian all day every day

I, too, appreciate the hummer, but my R1S meets my needs better and the hummer markup is insanity. It also seems much wider.

I didn’t get excited about the Hummer EV until I saw the new Earthcruiser Camper and then I thought ok, that would be sweet for a dedicated backcountry camper.

Test drove the SUV today. I loved it. Will be replacing my wife's X (probably). Due to arrive this "summer".

Took some pictures next to my R1S.

As a lifelong off-roader who has taken extended adventures in the mountains of Central Mexico, Baja California, the American Rockies, Vancouver Island, the North Cascades, and all over the American desert SW, and the coastal mountains of N. California and Oregon, I can say the Hummer is not half the off-road vehicle the Rivian is. It's all show and no go. Paramilitary image is nice, but that's all it is, image.

But have you seen the Hummer that got totaled with less than 20 miles on it surprisingly easy? It happens at about the 5 minute mark of this video:

(32) I Totaled My Brand New Hummer EV After Only 9 Miles *Not Clickbait* - YouTube

I can almost guarantee the Rivian would have driven right through that drainage swale at 50 mph with zero damage. It looks like he bent the frame (couldn't handle the massive weight even though it only had four people in it with no other cargo).

The Hummer is too massive (both in width and in weight) to make a good off-road vehicle. And it seems the chassis is not up to the task. It's a poser vehicle. At least it doesn't have a tailpipe but it does suck up an inordinate amount of batteries for the function it provides.
