UHH, spoilers, my dude.

Very cool tho, fuming over here in my beautiful but apparently second-rate R1T.
Back to back car of the year is quite a compliment for Rivian. Color me impressed.

To answer that, we'll need some context ...

The first recorded description of the social interactions that could be enabled through networking was a series of memos written by J.C.R. Licklider of MIT in August 1962 discussing his “Galactic Network” concept. He envisioned a globally interconnected set of computers through which everyone could quickly access data and programs from any site. In spirit, the concept was very much like the Internet of today. Licklider was the first head of the computer research program at DARPA starting in October 1962. While at DARPA he convinced his successors at DARPA, Ivan Sutherland, Bob Taylor, and MIT researcher Lawrence G. Roberts, of the importance of this networking concept.

Yeah that's wild, bit of a coup. To be fair though, Rivian really falls into exactly Doug's wheelhouse: offroad capability, quirky styling, straight-line acceleration, etc. I can see why some of the comments seem bitter, but as a bit of a fanboy it definitely makes me happy.

So what you’re saying is that the Internet is a series of tubes?

Hey all, I noticed that Mr Demuro's latest video, on the Mercedes-AMG G63 4xyadda blah blah, failed to benchmark that gorgeous anodized high-performance off-road SUV against at least 1 of its natural competitors: the R1S.

Seems like a weird omission, since the R1T is still right there. So I googled it, and found the official DougScore website (it's a thing I guess) here: https://www.dougdemuro.com/dougscore

And lo and behold, there's no R1S ranking there, either.

Did our guy get browbeaten into removing a score that rivaled the legendary F1? Cold feet on an overly exuberant score for a boxy offroader? Did he rethink the high value prop after the pricing changes (20% inflation from time of filming probably accounts for some of that, right, Dougie)? Is there some sort of self-replicating clerical error? A conspiracy of lizard people? Gamma rays from the sun flipping bits in a data center?

Kinda curious, either way.

[EDIT] yes, this is super duper inane, just a thing I noticed and was curious about, figured maybe someone knew what was up.
He just posted this today
