Has anyone mounted 275/60/20 AT type tires on their factory Rivian 20" AT wheels? I've seen plenty of photos of this with various aftermarket rims, but I'm looking for photos of the slightly smaller sidewall on factory 20's, ideally with AT tires rather than road-based. Anyone have a photo out there they can share? Thx!

Switching from 65's to 60's still gives decent off-road capability (using an AT tire of course) and can save 6lbs or more per tire, and $75-100/tire as well. I just wasn't sure whether it would look awkward or not. So far, the pics shown look great, no worries there. I'm trying to decide on my next set-up.

Switching from 65's to 60's still gives decent off-road capability (using an AT tire of course) and can save 6lbs or more per tire, and $75-100/tire as well. It’s a half inch less sidewalk than oem size. I think this size looks better on the wheel well at standard height.

While I don't have any photos, I would recommend the following tire based on it's 44# weight, UTQG=680 and $234 per tire (load is only 115 though): KUMHO ROAD VENTURE AT52

Only option <50# that is 116 load is the NITTO RECON GRAPPLER A/T and 46# ($300 per tire)...
At this point prob. best to go with the OEM 20" tire...biggest downside being cost.
I would prob. avoid both Kumho and Nitto and get a Michellin, Pirelli, or General first....

goldburger and OilfieldR1T - What is your average efficiency with the Grapplers? Guessing it's close to 2.0-2.2mi/kwh (3.2-3.5km/kwh)?

1.74… but it was 2.14 with the OEM 21’s, so…. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi. I'm new as a member of this forum but have been viewing it for all your info on after market tires. My R1t had the 21 inch road tires. I discovered later that there are no 21 inch all terrain tires and the wheels must be switched to 20 inch too. That's when I started researching and figuring out options. Rivian wanted $3,700 for the cheapest set. From Tire Rack I got 20-inch rims with the +48mm offset to match Rivian's. I got General Grabber AT tires in 275/60/20 to match the same diameter as the road tires so that I would not have to have the truck reprogrammed (2.5 hour drive and $400 I think). I called the Tire Rack and the guy helped me to make sure they met the load and speed rating. They're range XL. Range E of course will work but heavier and not as smooth. Regular Range D's may be close to the limit but may work? Also, the speed rating is important with so much torque from the Rivian. These tires are 116T. Another thing is that the psi range needs to be at least up to 50psi otherwise, you'll have the low tire pressure warning always on. These tires are rated up to 60 psi with 60k mileage. I put them on my self and so far so good. They have a little road noise but nothing to complain about. As for the effect on the range, it seem very little, although I haven't taken it on any long trips yet. Seems I'm averaging about 2 mi/kw this winter with weather in the 50s. Maybe closer to 2.5 on the freeway after it warms up.

Thanks for adding this info, looks like you got the General Grabber A/TX, highly rated and also snow rated. It seems to be in the goldilocks zone (50#s; 14/32" tread depth; 9.6" tread width; UTQG=640 A B). Great choice! Your speedo should read spot on since you came from the 21"s (33" tire same as your new tire). My guess is you will still only get about 20-25k miles out of them, but hopefully it's a little more.
You may want to check the PSI rating, I think it's 50 (not 60). My guess is you will want to follow the 48 psi recommended per Rivian (unless towing, then you could run near max).

So far closer to 1.8-2.0mi/kwh, I also put them on in the fall and a lot of driving at 10-30 Fahrenheit. I expect to see around 2.2 in warmer weather

Nittos didn't make the list, but I could add them on if the efficiency (can we call this MPK or something? - tired of typing this 10-letter word) matches or beats the 20" OEM...speed rating not great though...

Affordable high efficiency 20" wheels and 33" tires options (275/60R20)
