Ask Ford Bronco owners like me........ The Bronco rollout was a S show....people ordered and some waited over a year or more depending on the dealer location. Mine was 9 months from the order date. I like that Rivian is doing it slow and "methodically"
Same happened to a friend. And to add insult to injury, when it was time for delivery the dealer tacked on “market adjustment” to the final price.

That is why you get the price in writing when you place an order. My local dealer tried that with one reservation holder and got blasted so bad with email and reviews they gave the money back.....Power of groups!

He did. But that didn’t matter. Ford did not help him either. He went through with it anyway. I wouldn’t have.

Back in 2021 - some people were willing to pay 10-15K over sticker to get a Bronco..... Times have changed....I still love mine!

On the R1T launch I figured out that they could not actually do build to order. That they were producing a lot of the same spec truck and then matching them up to the preorders in an out of order way. I specifically picked the configuration that I thought they were most likely to produce and got mine early. YMMV. Build to order is hard.
The eventually starting batching trucks. The way we ended up getting our truck in 2022 was by working with our guide to look at available VINs and then volunteering to pick up at the factory (which they are no longer doing.) This got us 90% to our configuration. They were also having the tonneau cover issues at the time, which also caused delays.
