Agreed I don’t need much in the way of new features - just keep honing what it already has. Hopefully the memory setting for Rivian Assistant is a big improvement.
The memory setting was always there. I enabled it early on. It doesn’t work, I hope they fixed it.

Looks to me that visualization of lights and cones are first steps towards point to point autonomy
Agreed, I’m ready for the green light notification in addition to when the car in front of you moves on.

Oh Thank God they’re finally addressing Apple Music. It’s been too damn unreliable. Lot’s of good fixes all around.

Glad to see a cycle focused almost entirely on bugs/stability. Finally they're taking some whacks at all the bugs in Apple Music.

> Fixed a rare issue that prevented songs from playing.
> Fixed a rare issue that prevented certain content from displaying on the Home tab.

Somehow both of these "rare" issues affected me nearly every drive.

I wonder how many of these updates we will get until OS 2.0 comes to the R1. Seems strange to put too much effort into this when there's a whole new OS version around the corner -- unless 2.0 is built largely on what we're currently running but, if that was the case, I wonder why R2 was missing so many features at launch.

My guess is the R1 and R2 stacks are different enough where it isn't a simple port. And 2.0 R1 is probably not coming until closer to end of the year. For sake o keeping things fresh enough, they have to pace and spread any newness out. Or, risk running out of tricks. And any knee-jerk sentiments that R2 is outpacing R1... that's simply not true. Remind yourselves, there are things the R2 does not have right now. While unknown to us, there is a release schedule of sorts for each model and it's not a competition. And the devs may not even be dedicated to either model. They may be the same people who work on both and have to divide their attention/time and prioritize between tasks. Judging by the frequency of layoffs (not just in software), safe to say we know they run on a "right size" model (as much as I hate the business jargon). I would be very surprised of R1 and R2 have separate software teams.

Improved parked-vehicle monitoring, so the Gear Guard system better detects if your parked vehicle is bumped or hit.
This one will be good.

FYI, mobile app update is out for Android and iOS. It references 2023.31 for R1 as prerequisite. So, the vehicle update is probably not far away and may include more than what is published for 2026.23. BUT, there is someone on Reddit claiming the .31 is a typo.
