I thought I'd share a bit about my experience with ordering and purchasing my R1T and some thoughts on my first week with the truck.

I placed my original reservation in May 2021, so I didn't have to wait near as long as some folks. My original delivery window was Oct.-Dec. 2022, which was later revised to Sept.-Oct. 2022, which ultimately resulted in the truck being ready for pick up on August 9 (VIN in the mid-9000's). I didn't change my configuration to try for an earlier delivery, but I guess mine was already one that was being produced earlier: adventure, 21" wheels, white with black interior, quad motor, full-size spare, cross bars, all weather floor mats, field kit, power tonneau, and camp kitchen. The full-size spare came with the truck, while the field kit and cross bars had to be shipped (arrived already). Still waiting on the floor mats and, of course, the camp kitchen.

Once the truck was available, I was given the option of picking it up at the Atlanta service center or having it delivered (I'm about 2.5 hours away). In part because I wanted to see the service center, and in part because I'd read on here about damage occurring during transport, I decided to pick it up. The entire process was really easy, and the people at the service center were great to work with. My wife and I received a brief rundown of the vehicle operation, and after a brief test drive we left our trade in with them and drove the R1T home. I don't know yet if the title/registration paperwork has been submitted yet or done properly. Fingers crossed there.

Though I haven't put a ton of miles on it yet, so far I love the truck! I really like the size of it, and my wife, who was concerned that it would be too big, does too. As others have mentioned, the power, ride, and handling are excellent. I've found the user interface with the touchscreen pretty intuitive, though there's a lot I haven't tried to do yet. I've also found the driver's seat to be exceptionally comfortable (I'm about 6'), and reports from the back seat are that it is both roomy enough and comfortable.

So far I have not been using my phone as a key -- I've only used the fob, and it has worked well. Before using the power tonneau (as suggested by some here) I applied some dry graphite lube. It's working fine, but I've only opened/closed it a couple of times. The glass roof seems to have adequate tint for us -- even on a sunny August day we haven't notice much heat coming through. (I also haven't left it baking in the sun all day, so we'll see.)

While I don't have any substantive complaints yet (knocking on wood), there's one thing I've noticed that I thought I'd pass along. The truck doors have to be shut pretty firmly, and it's not always easy to tell when they haven't shut all the way. If you're behind the wheel you can see that a door isn't fully closed on your screen, but if you're outside the vehicle it's easy (for me) to miss. This caused me a few minutes of concern because my home charger (ClipperCreek 40A that was already installed) kept faulting the second time I attempted to charge the truck. It turned out that it wouldn't charge because a rear door wasn't completely closed. (At least, after closing the door fully it starting charging no problem, and I haven't had a problem since.)

Overall, I'm very pleased with the entire experience. Hopefully as I put more miles on it, I'll continue to have good luck with no major issues!
