EVSportline tech got back to me. They said their MagSafe charger only draws .3 watts when not charging and would take 50 years to drain the truck. I'm guessing they started including the blackout ring because it never turns off. So I'm not going to worry about it but I will unplug the adapter if the truck is going to sit for more than a couple weeks.

Yeah I figured it was a smalle nough draw that it really doesn't matter. The glowing ring isn't that big of a deal to me on mine

Just installed my EVSportline MagSafe charger and one thing that concerns me a bit with it never turning off is that it seems to wake the truck every few minutes. My office is right next to my garage so I noticed I could hear something clicking every minutes after installing it. I use ElectraFi and noticed the frequent wake and sleep cycles just after installing it. I confirmed it with the app as well. The power draw from the charger itself may be so low that it won't be an issue, but waking the truck up every few minutes seems like it must not be great? I guess time will tell if theres a hit to the battery from this behavior. I will reach out to EVSportline and ask about this as well, although they don't make the adapter so it's not really their problem I suppose.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

I would do a soft reset of the vehicle and make sure you phone isn't too close to the truck. Our G2 R1S does not have this issue.
