Throwing the Syclone on the trailer and it still beats the Raptor. Oh man you have no idea how happy that makes me. I have some serious beef with the Raptards in this area. Can't wait to do that to them :D
I have a few of those around too but the one I really want to shut up is the guy with the Shelby pickup that wakes up my parents every morning. I think 0-60 is 3.5 with that truck…okay, so maybe I won’t race for pinks ?…

Crashing/Stopping doesn't matter if you just obliterate whatever you are hitting and keep on going! An object in motion and all that jazz

Let's Crank that governor up lads!!

On paper, the outcome was already known; what I didn't expect was the dramatic winning margin and how closely the R1 kept pace with X Plaid for the first 3 seconds … their 0-60 times are much closer real world than I would have expected … I don't even know if the X Plaid has all the S Plaid software (Cheetah mode) or if the driver was using everything.

That’s a great point! I admit that vehicle was perfect at the time for jamming our 3 Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the back. SO underpowered though. I was driving through WY once and a strong headwind almost brought me to a stop. :asshat:
Reminds me of when I was getting my PPL in a Cessna 140. Grand total of 85 horsepower (smaller engine than every motorcycle I've ever owned) - a glorified lawnmower.

Practicing slow flight with a strong headwind one day, I was alarmed to look at the ground and realize I was flying backwards.

At the end the guy said he had to turn it off because it was causing his ass to buzz, so I believe it was on.
Yes, if you watch the full video you notice he turns WTF on towards the start (and gets all kinds of weird sounds and butt vibrations - so glad Rivian doesn't indulge in all that theater just to go fast.)

“Alarmed” does not begin to describe what I would be feeling in that moment:whew:

Yes, he activated Cheetah Mode.

Part of me was disappointed that the R1T could not keep up with the Model X with its quad motor torque, but the numbers do not add up for the R1 to match the Plaid.

I mean, isn’t the Plaid 2x the price of the R1T and weighs about 2,000 pounds less. Can only cheat physics so much.

It is a little cringe-worthy.
Owning a Hummer always was... The new EV variant is no different. Just like its ICE predecessors, the Hummer EV is one of the most inefficient vehicles currently in production. Just because it's an EV doesn't automatically make it better or more efficient in any way... Most public pay charging will cost just as much or more to charge as it would to fill an F-250/ RAM 2500/ etc.. with diesel in terms of $/mile.

They can market the Hummer EV all they want as an "off-road super truck" but it's seriously impractical for real world off-road use. It's overall size and weight just make that an impractical endeavor no matter how much you want to believe the hype.

I wonder how practical it will be off-road. I don’t do much off-roading myself but over 9,000 pounds and it’s width make it seem very impractical for many off-road trails. Especially if you get stuck. You would need a crane to get unstuck. And how practical would it be in the city. Won’t fit in most peoples garages and driving around town seems like it would not be very easy, especially parking.
