I haven't read every post here but...

Based on what I'm assuming, you are permitted to carry it with you all the time, which means your use case is to keep it locked and out of sight when the vehicle is parked, right? When you're driving, it is on your person?

If so, the center console area is pretty deep and it locks when the car is locked. If I remember correctly if you don't have the key, the center console won't open up even if you press it.

Maybe that could be a quick and easy solution where you can even secure a holster to the side of the storage area?

You could, but I’m not sure that’s super safe if a kid got into your car or something else and took it. Also, in some areas you can’t have it in the glove compartment. It Hass to be in the trunk area, which is why I was trying to see if there was something for a cable lock.

Interested in the topic, but I don't love this statement on their website:

  1. WARNING: THIS IS A NOVELTY ITEM. THE PRODUCER AND SELLER OF THIS ITEM MAKES NO WARRANTIES OR GUARANTEES TO ITS EFFECTIVENESS, INCLUDING ITS ABILITY (OR LACK THEREOF) TO DEFLECT BREAK-INS OR THEFT. THE USE OF THIS ITEM IS COMPLETELY AT THE OWNER’S RISK AND RESPONSIBLITY. ↩
  2. WARNING: DO NOT STORE ANYTHING HAZARDOUS OR DANGEROUS IN THE RCS SAFE THAT CAN BE ACCESSED BY CHILDREN. Because the RCS Safe does not have a top cover, anyone with access to the vehicle’s center display (i.e. when the vehicle is unlocked, or passengers are already seated within a locked vehicle) can unlock the Rivian cubby dock latching mechanism through the center display settings, remove the entire RCS Safe assembly from the cubby, and gain access to the RCS Safe’s contents. Furthermore, Rivian vehicles unpredictably unlock the cubby latching mechanism at the same time as when the vehicle is unlocked (e.g. after putting the vehicle in Park from Drive), even though the latching mechanism re-locks when the vehicle is locked. Therefore, do not store anything in the RCS Safe that you do not want someone who has legitimate access into the vehicle to gain access into the RCS Safe’s contents (e.g. valet driver). ↩

I have one, just make sure to read the instructions on how to register a fingerprint. Works fine as a stand in for a glove compartment.

Not what I meant. I have one. But no place to secure the cable lock on a hidden area like trunk or frunk.

I ordered the RCS Safe last week and received it today, June 20. Safe arrived and is as described. Workmanship and finish detail is very good. Great accessory item. I would recommend it.
