You have a Gen 2. Didn't they pause the rollout at some point due to an issue w/ charging in the cold? Then release a different version a few weeks later?
That is my understanding, I never got the original update. I only got the revised update last Saturday morning.

Assistant and the Google stuff. Don't expect much for Gen1 with regards to Apple Watch or keys.

So, actually, in my case, it has been exactly 5 DAYS since the last update was installed for Arjuan. Was I the last one? Are there folks who still have not gotten the last one?

I would imagine that the Rivian software folks would like to get feedback, error reports, etc. from their last update before they develop a punch list to start working on a new one.
Mine came yesterday 1/22 while in a service center, or so the app notification said.

Funny about goodle assistant. I forgot we had Alexa in the truck and we were coming back from skiing last week and my youngest son said something that sounded like Alexa so she came on and then he said fart in the same sentence. Oh boy, 10 mins of asking her to do different farts later I had enough. Can’t wait for them to ask google for it. :headbang:

Am I the only one to avoid the creepy Google spying on everything you do, keeping track of it and reporting same to our corporate overlords?
Yes, most of us here own phones and Rivians, so understand that we're fucked in that department regardless.

Futile paranoia. Newsflash: Even if you don't own a phone or a Rivian, just for being a member of a highly monetized capitalistic economy, you are already being spied on.

Got a bank account? Got credit or debit cards? Have any insurance accounts? Have any utility accounts? Got a mailing address? On any payrolls? Have a tax payer ID? Own any property? Have you signed on to any rewards programs, like for grocery stores or pharmacies? Have you ever used a toll road? On and on... all of the things you take for granted—including that cucumber you bought with rest of your groceries. They all generate data. Data that is being collected, processed and used for various purposes... including nefarious ones.

Did I just melted your brain?

Starting in 2010, I've had three cars with the foot under the bumper opener. All were trouble-free and something that you really get used to. I've had dreams about walking up to my R1T with my arms full and just doing a little kick and having the frunk open hands-free. Alas, not to be . . .

Yes. I welcome it. I’m hoping they develop an AI assistant based on my personality. Everyone would benefit from it. I promise

I make significant efforts to avoid the worst of big tech surveillance. I've significantly reduced my reliance on their services over the last few years. I'm not at zero, but doing pretty good.

Worth the effort IMO.

I don't get the people who think it's worth doing nothing because it's hard to eliminate 100% of it.

Better than Amazon.

Only because with Google, I can use my "Google Workspace" account, which gives me complete control over how Google uses my data, unlike a standard Gmail account.
