Why, I don't need money, no need to sell it. it's value is as a backup should my phone go down, thus far haven't needed it.

I am happy for your state of financial security. My suggestion (and it was only a suggestion) was intended (not only for you) for all the people in this thread (and similar threads) that felt the need to inform us that they never use the fob. I do understand keeping it as a backup.
To all those many people who never use the fob (and are proud of it): sell it to another owner (for a reasonable price). Make someone's day.

if you're talking about this fob, it's been around since at least December 2023 builds.

I got a March 2024 R1T and didn't get this key fob.. how do you get it?

I would contact your service center. I didn't do anything special to get the fob. I don't know whether vehicles arrive from the factory with their fobs pre-assigned or if the service center does it on arrival. It may just be that your service center still had old-style fobs to get through when you picked it up?

For whatever reason, the random capitalization of certain words makes me crazy. The misuse of FOB here is widespread.

Like when people call Apple’s computers “MAC” instead of Mac. MAC is “Media Access Control” - the hardware address of network cards.
