So interesting for such a disparity... Wonder if there were defects
That is the only thing I could think of but you can't do anything about it since there are no warranty with OEM tires. It is definitely not due to my wife's style of driving since she is very conservative with the pedal and 95% all purpose driving.

you lucky duck. all OEMs are not the same. Mine lasted 16k miles. I see reported from 10k miles upward of 30K miles on 21".
I'll probably make it to about 14k or 15k before needing new tires (I'm at 12k right now). We do 95% of our driving at All Purpose/Standard height, 4% of our driving at All Purpose/Auto height and 1% of our driving on Conserve. In my mind, that's abysmal.

Do what many of 21" owners do. Switch to 20" with 275/60/20 tires. You will be happier with tires selections.
If I do that, it is correct that I don't need new 20" wheels? Also, would I need to recalibrate something?

You will need 20" wheels. I bought a set of Atomic Wheels 20" with general grabbers HTS60 from Discount tires for total of $3500. I think Atomic Wheels have a special with that combo.
If you are replacing the 21" Pirelli , it will be around $2300 with installation and warranty from Discount tires and only lasted 16k miles? So, I figured it would save in the long run and I can sell my 21" if I need to.

No calibration needed since you are going 275/60/20 size. It is the same diamter as the 21".

Amount of highway driving, road surfaces, ride heights, driving styles, amount spent towing, probably all play into lifetime.

I changed our 21’s at 18k miles, but might have squeaked by to 20k.

I remind myself that I am asking these tires to do a lot more than any tire in my previous experience. These need to support up to 9000 lbs under dynamic loads, withstand over 900 lb-ft of torque, all while being quiet and resulting in 2.4 mi/kwh average efficiencies. I need to take my previous experience and scale it to these numbers.

How about noise? The original Pirellis are noisey. My duty cycle off road is 1 %, I'd like a quiet tire.

I thought the 21’s are fine noise wise but not having tried any other tire on there, that’s totally subjective. There are reports on this forum that the 20’s are louder esp as they age.

Don’t get me wrong, I wish there were 21” options too. Esp last month when I finally decided to swap them.

I'm at 30k, nearing/at the wear bars. 2.53mi/kWh average on the stock 21's over 2500 miles. Can't complain with that, and I'd like to see a photo of someone else's efficiency over that large of a range of driving on 20's.

I tow often in the summer, drive on dirt daily (but don't "off road"), and am not squeamish to use the power.

Still can't wait for the Michelins.... any day now, please!

OK, I'm driving a R1T that has 27k miles(that I may buy) and is on the 20" Pirellis, I believe they were not rotated but oncel so the fronts are warn. So It sounds like the 20" wheels offer many more options for my non off road needs , so thats a benefit. With the conserve mode only driving the front tires, they will always wear funny due to tow out and in under acceleration and braking. The AT tires always wear and become noisey. Thank you for your input.

Yes, but not with the tires if that's what you were suggesting. My 22" OE tires had to be replaced at just over 10k miles. While I am certainly not easy on tires, the bigger issue was the alignment from the factory which had way too much toe.

See below

OEM 20" staple wheels with Pirelli AS+3 275/60/20 gave me 2.45mi/kWh over summer. It dropped to 2.35 as soon as October hit with cooler temps.

(This was taken at pickup after 21" wheel calibration, but based on 20" AT diameter of 34", so divide miles and efficiency by 1.03 to correct)

I'm currently at 2mi/kWh on the 2363s with Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws 275/60/20 calibrated to 21s for the correct diameter for efficiency and speedo accuracy. My big question is what the 2363 with AS I just had made will do in comparison... I probably won't test until spring when it's time to rotate, changing 8 tires just to test now doesn't sound fun.

The disparity is the greatest on 21" and 22" from what I'm reading on this forum. The 20" AT seems to be more consistent. 10K miles on yours is insane and I don't care how agressive your driving style is.
