My service center took in my truck because it bricked. They said I have a nail in a tire. $190. It wasn't there when I brought it in and this service center has lots of construction around it.

I sold my Rivian a few months ago since owning it since launch. One of the reasons oh got rid of it was because of the terrible service.
Take it to discount tire and get fixed for free, problem solved.

Whenever I've received news on brake pad or rotor wear for any vehicle (hasn't happened on R1T yet) it was in writing factual and clear with estimates for any work to correct. This included pad/rotor measurements for all 4 corners with pictures of pads and rotors (Lexus/Mercedes does this). If they're removing the wheels this type of writeup is is very simple to do.

If you're not getting this information, how could the tech possibly know if pads or rotors need work? Tech said is meaningless, techs report says X is meaningful.

FWIW, I've never talked to a service tech in my life except for quick lube places many years ago when I was stupid and Porsche when the techs were giving a specific class. Everything was/is in writing delivered by one of the service managers.

You inspected your tires when you got to the service center?

Umm, what? Brakes wear down on the Rivian, regardless of regen braking, with a lot of mileage, particularly the front passenger ones. I’m having mobile do mine tomorrow (80k miles), without going to an SC and it’s going to be like $200. Did you get an actual work estimate for $2000?
Model S pads lasted to 175k miles, and original rotors still good at 225k. Rivian only making it to 80k is pretty disappointing to say the very least.

To be fair, I bought this one used with 55k miles. I do not know how the prior owner drove it in the DC metro area traffic nightmare.

And, while your S pads and rotors lasted that long, it’s hugely variable with EV’s depending on road salt, etc, and generally the data shows anything from 70k+ to be expected.
