May/June Deliveries Thread

Delivery scheduled for Friday Tomorrow June 9th!!!

Unfortunately, I won't be home so my wife is taking delivery and I get to watch over FaceTime until I am home on Sunday… It’s going to be a long weekend.

Update: Was able to change delivery to tomorrow. Confirming with my Guide that it's real and not a bug on their website.

Update 2: Delivery is set for the 9th. The truck is in transit which is why delivery windows opened up, but the date it’ll be ready for me to take delivery of is the 9th.

nice - yeah same thing happened to me. My delivery step opened up and I scheduled for the next day but my guide texted later that he canceled it. said it was only in transit.

I wonder how many people who complained about "canceled delivery" experienced the same thing. Rivian should probably wait and have the guides manually open that step once the truck has made it to the service center and passed QC.

For all of you getting excited, many, many, many pickups or deliveries are cancelled the day before due to the truck not completing the pre delivery inspection. It’s luck of the draw. I’m a couple of weeks past my “pickup date” which was unlocked and set by my guide - targeting this week for attempt 3.

Took delivery last Friday just in time for Memorial day weekend! Last 5 of VIN is 05903 build quality is fantastic. Panel gaps and paint are very good all around, without going over it with an inspection light it is great. There is one blemish about half the size of a grain of rice on the leading edge of the rear passenger window casing on the vertical black trim and the rubber door gasket along the bottom of the driver door was loose but I fully seated it and now it seems fine. So far no need to place any service requests.

Was able to workout the proof of insurance. Just waiting on step 8 now. I was told my vehicle should arrive to the local distribution center late this week or early next week. Does Rivian send you an email when step 8 is unlocked or should a check the app once (100 times) a day?

you'll get an email, and/or the service center rep will contact you directly (I got a text message), and/or your guide will reach out to assist with selecting an available pickup appointment.

so you only need to log-on and check your app about 50 times daily instead.

My guide just texted to let me know my truck is scheduled for QC this weekend and if he gets the all clear we'll schedule delivery.

I think there are a lot of cancelled deliveries because the website opens up step 8 and allows you to schedule your delivery before the guide has confirmed the truck is ready.

I reached out to CS again today. Hey, it's June, what's the story, that kinda deal. A few nuggets from that convo:

- "May-June is still your current delivery window"
- "Our earliest non-employee deliveries BEGAN towards the end of May, and we'll continue to ramp production of the R1S through June and July!" notice BEGAN, past tense. I asked how many and was told, "I am not sure exactly how many but they are going out now."
- "We are sending up updates to all preorder holders beginning next week, this will give you more insight into if your delivery window has moved at all."
- "I hope we can deliver on improving the frequency of our communications, I know a lot of people would appreciate it."

Took delivery today and 20 min later the truck is riding on it's tires as the air compressor won't raise it back up. Now it's on the flatbed back to the service center.

Was a super fun and exciting day for 20 min...

So I completed the 8 steps this morning and got a vin. Delivery day is scheduled for June 17 at the South San Francisco service center. Yea! 2 weeks out.

Guide says the truck is still in Normal but she will let me know when it leaves the factory.

So no email for me. A rep from the distribution center texted me. Scheduled me to pick up my vehicle this Sunday in El Segundo!!! I texted my guided to inform her of the schedule pickup since my license was still pending. She was unaware, of the scheduled delivery but was able to finalize my documents.
