And, the $80K R1S is rated for only 260 miles.I agree. The $80k version will be 320 miles of range. EPA. Whoop tee do.
Maybe they will shock us all, but I expect the 440 mile range version will be $120k.

And the Model X for roughly the same price (yet only 5 seats) is 333 miles on the Elon scale. 286 at 70 mph. And, the $80K R1S is rated for only 260 miles.

Highway range is a different animal, and that is really what I care about. At 80 mph, battery and drive trian efficiency become almost noise, IMO. Aerodynamics are king at 80 mph. Of course the Gravity is more aerodynamic, but how much more? It's still a big vehicle. I think it is possible it can achieve 3 mi/kWh at 80 mph. It's possible. Likely? Probably not. I bet more like 2.6 or maybe 2.8.And the Model X for roughly the same price (yet only 5 seats) is 333 miles on the Elon scale. 286 at 70 mph.
same. Can’t wait to get rid of our Model SFor me, I would not look at this to replace the R1S but would take a serious look to replace our Model S, especially if you can realistically get over 350 miles on the road.
I’m so disappointed. Was really hopeful it would be awesome.

Dang, that's a good looking crossover. Lucid seriously screwed up by not offering this first.
Except for off road ability, this will be a serious competitor to the R1S. Based on what I'm seeing here, I'd buy the Lucid over the R1S. The biggest challenge to me buying one is whether or not I think Lucid can survive.
Good photo find! Tots hilarious. I was thinking boring mini van when I first saw the images of the Gravity, but didn’t realize how similar it was until I saw your post.

I mostly agree with you, except there is a pretty limited number of pastry lovers who can fork over $80-120k for a slice.I disagree it’s a zero sum game. More alternatives in the large size EV market will attract more buyers, and each can get more customers. Bigger pie, bigger slices for everyone
