I also had my 12V battery replaced. It could have been that. I updated near that time. I could really see the battery replacement could have caused it.
Yep, I had my 12v replaced too, though it did not happen until the software update, literally within 2 days post-update. The 12v was replaced over a month ago.

My Gen 2 R1S Max is also showing ridiculously energy efficiencies. 0.6mi/kWh today. It had been steady at 2.3 for months. The efficiency numbers are normal if I manually calculate it. I am guessing it is a math error in the software. You have to wonder how that made it through the release process without being caught.

Yes, started right after the .22 update. Step changes in trip computer kwh. Energy monitor is fine.

Me too. There also is a similar Reddit thread.

IMO it is clearly a problem with the efficiency calculation for the A and B trip computers. At first I thought it might be a one-off fluke or really bad vampire drain, but it’s not.

I have been resetting trip B every drive and comparing the mi/kWh for “Current Drive” in the Energy App with same metric for Trip B. The energy app consistently shows my efficiency at 2-2.5 mi/kWh for every drive.

Repeatedly, the Trip B calculations are very close suddenly the Trip B calculation is < 1, sometimes as low as 0.25.

I have not wanted to reset Trip A, but the reported efficiency there has dropped to <1, even though it had a long term steady state closer to 2 previously. (And I have no issue with vampire drain)

Resets have not fixed it. I didn’t see this prior to the July update. Hoping for a fix in the next software update.

BTW my 12V replacement has not yet happened—scheduled for tomorrow

Has no one brought this issue up to Service?

I did send a service request on this issue yesterday but no reply yet.

Yes, I brought this issue up to service when I first noticed. They thought it was weird and had never heard about it at the original time I posted on this forum after that conversation. I have a mobile service appointment in a few weeks they are going to look at it. Per services original request, they asked I do hard and soft resets which I already had. I've also done a few more , as well as reset the trip odometer and try to notice if it changes over night depending on if I plug the vehicle in or not. I noticed it particularly adds kw to my trip computer if I don't plug it in, so I assume it's somehow reading adding vampire drain to my trip odometer but in the wrong order of magnitude. For instance if I expect about 2kw of vampire drain in a lengthy period of the truck sitting for a day or so, it adds 200kw of used energy to my trip computer.

Same issue here OP.

Version .22 brought it on, also had my 12v swapped + bracket. Gen 2.

The energy monitor on the main screen and efficiency gauge on the driver screen are operating normally.

UPDATE: It appears that my efficiency problem is fixed. Watched a video about how to reset your Rivian that offered three reset steps. I've done the infotainment reset and the hazard/left steering wheel button before.

I was not aware of the reset that occurs if you lock your truck, make sure nothing is connected to any port or outlet (charging port, 120v, 12 volt etc) after an hour. I did this first and left for two hours.

Then I did the wheel button and hazard button reset again. OMG it works now! Efficiency is back up above 2!

This issue has gone away for me since installing the update last week tuesday night. No more added KW to the trips A or B.

Mine still did it after this latest update. My 12v was replaced about a month ago. Exact problem as everyone else started with the last update. I reset B and it works now. But that’s what I did an update ago and it still went back to these funky readings.

I’m on 26.30 and it is not fixed. I don’t want to reset my Trip B as that’s the lifetime one, haha! Hope there is a proper fix soon. I will go ahead and try resetting Trip A to see if that works Though.

Bummer! Mine has still been good, average about 2.45 mi/kwh again on the trip readings. It was definitely a bummer to reset them from when I took delivery just over a year ago though too.

I’m not optimistic the car saved that data for Trip B.

I am not either, sadly.

This morning I did a hard reset, reset trip A, and went for a drive. Quite the discrepancy between what the Energy Monitor shows vs Trip A. A 0.4 mi/kWh difference.
